As the editor for the Cocteau Twins movie script, there are many details which are wrong, but many assume this is correct; however, the three have never authorized, confirming, or even denied the many claims which was posted by 4AD. The three simply ignore many claims, because they dislike media attention. Elizabeth is from Grangemouth, Scotland; but the band didn't originate from there and Elizabeth hated it there, so they all moved to just outside Edinburgh. "The Voice of God" was a proclamation from the Japanese Blues/Folk music singer/songwriter Kan Mikami ― Numerous music magazines adopted the phrase without giving Mikami credit. Robin walked into 4AD Records on a hunch, with a homemade cassette in hand and Ivo Watts-Russell invited him inside for a quick chat.
Ivo was immediately enamored by Robin's confidence, but he heard Elizabeth's vocals, pushed way towards the back and Ivo wanted to hear her. Leesa Beals (aka., "mmmender") was the one person they implicitly trusted. Beals made the very first Cocteau Twins website; arranged the first Cocteau Twins Forum (I'm an original member); created CocteauFest; and she even acted as an impromptu secretary; however, throughout the years, she documented every possible story, regarding their bands histrionics.
Leesa was diagnosed with cancer and she passed away, so Elizabeth withdrew her consent for a movie project. Elizabeth said, "I can't relive the pain". I'm seeking Elizabeth's permission to write a Cocteau Twins biography, so the debate will finally come to rest.

Thanks for commenting, a movie would have been amazing, for me this is a legendary band. My video is just a quick 10 minute overview with many omitted facts. The sources I had were the 4AD book and a bio that was posted many years ago on the web, it used to cover the entire history, but now only parts 1 and 2 seem to be up.

I was head over heels in love with the Cocteau Twins since I first heard them on John Peel at the start of their journey. I own everything in the discography up to Heaven or Las Vegas. For some strange reason, I own nothing after that album, as much as I love it I guess I moved on to the Pixies, MBV, etc. Anyways I started listening again over the past few years and have fallen in love again
