    Really enjoy your channel sir! Love your taste with the mods as well! What brand carbon fiber pieces are you using?

    • @haneymoto
      @haneymoto  Před 8 měsíci

      The carbon bits are all form Carbon2Race. I've been very happy with the quality.

    What track stand do you have for the rear wheels and also what spools do you have? I have a ‘22 Yamaha XSR 900, close cousin to your MT09 on order arriving in about 2-1/2 weeks. Down in Miami. Great and informative videos. Thanks!

    • @haneymoto
      @haneymoto  Před rokem

      Appreciate you watching and commenting. The XSR 900 is a great bike. As for the stand, it is the trackside stand from Cycle Gear. They are around $100. as for spools I am also using just basic ones from Cycle Gear. Here is a link to a quick video I did n the stand czcams.com/video/XiSd4MgPVaU/video.html

    Did you pull that Allen headed cover off of the engine case for that frame slider? Will the oil leak out or is it safe to just pull it off and swap it out with no spill? Thank you!

    • @haneymoto
      @haneymoto  Před 3 měsíci

      Yes. The slider replaces the cover. If you put the bike on a paddock stand no oil will leak out. You need a 14mm Allen to remove the cover.
      Here is a link to TST Industries installation video. It’s in a previous generation MT but the process is the same.

    The current model r1 oil plug is over the damn headers. This is so much better designed.

    • @haneymoto
      @haneymoto  Před rokem +1

      Yeah really easy oil change. But for the R1 and others aluminum foil can be used to protect the pipes.

      @@haneymoto now that is a way better idea. I was using plastic bags with questionable success lmao

    Did you do the 600 mile service yourself? The only thing I don’t have tools for is the fuel timing

    • @haneymoto
      @haneymoto  Před rokem +1

      I had the dealer do it. But this was because I had a little fender bender at just under 600 miles and had the dealer check everything for me.

    I used Amsoil for my first oil change. Pricey at $17 a quart tho.

  • @lold6130

    I always do oil changes with the engine hot so the oil will drain faster. Also, I pre-fill the filter with new oil & it's surprising how much you can put in. Oil filter only needs to be tightened to 17nm & drain bolt to 29nm (and use new crush washer - they're cheap). Those looked way too tight

    • @haneymoto
      @haneymoto  Před rokem

      I used to fill the filter but in some cases, it became messy when reinstalling. So I put the filter on dry and check the levels after running the engine a bit.

    Did your dealer change the oil filter at the 600 mile service? The filters that come on the bike from the factory are notoriously tight and a pain to get off. When new one goes on a 3/4 turn after the filter contacts should suffice.

    • @haneymoto
      @haneymoto  Před rokem

      They did change it at the 600 mile service. So my guess is the tech tightened the shit out if it.
      Needless to say I did close to your suggestion when I put it back on.

    wow nice and easy access, looks like a well designed bike, did you need to remove anything to get to that?

    • @haneymoto
      @haneymoto  Před rokem

      Nope nothing to remove, very easy job. Especially compared to a fully faired bike. Thank you for watching and commenting

    Is 2018 model oil filter suitable for 2021 mt09?

      Yes. Yamaha uses this filter for many models.

    You need to put some elbow grease there 😂
    They overnighted them from manufacture,so it doesn’t leak under guarantee lol. It’s would be better to change that crush washer especially that it was definitely crushed😮
    Great job doing it yourself 👍

    Why is there so many people dont pre-soak the oil filter do you know how much oil has to pass though it before it gets preasure into the head. you did do it pretty quick so should have an ok oil coating over cams and stuff but why risk it on such a great bike

    • @haneymoto
      @haneymoto  Před rokem

      Honestly I’ve never filled the filters on any vehicles and have never had an issue. I put the filter on dry, run the engine for a few mins, check the oil levels and add accordingly.

    How do you dispose of old oil?

    • @haneymoto
      @haneymoto  Před rokem +1

      I dump the old oil a waste oil jug and then bring it to a local Advanced Auto. This is the jug I use shop.advanceautoparts.com/p/flotool-dispos-oil-recycle-jug-11849mi/9180023-p?c3ch=PLA&c3nid=9180023-P&adtype=pla&product_channel=online&store_code=&gbraid=0AAAAAD05GhWMTSejZ_L6M_Ko2A1XDFnoP&gbraid=0AAAAAD05GhWMTSejZ_L6M_Ko2A1XDFnoP&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIzsmbvdPK-wIVAdaGCh2OlgobEAQYASABEgJ5UfD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds
