Miss Grandad. Rest in peace Lennard Pearce! You will never be forgotten.
The stuck lift scene, where a grieving Rodney opens up to Del about losing his baby, is one of the most emotional scenes in the series.
They didn't put it in because it might offend or upset someone. Remember this is the BBC.
It hurts even more when you realise that happened to Nicholas in real life.

I can't remember if it's when Grandad dies, or at his funeral, Del says something like;
"Family...they bring you up, they bring you down...then they break your heart"😪
What do they do ey, drag you down then break your bloody heart...
It's when he is talking to Rodney about grieving
@@marcthomas83 Thank you
@@marcthomas83 That moment is brilliant because it shows how quickly Del had to grow up in order to care for his brother. He had to have more bounce than Zebadee and he couldn't allow himself to show weakness. He had to be Del Boy.
Triggers body language at the beginning is absolute terrific acting considering his character. OFAH is a gem!
Roger Lloyd Pack worked with the Royal Shakespeare Company.
Rodney's wedding used to get me every time! Also the episode where Del is in hospital with stomach issues and when the Scottish Dr gives him the news he's ok and he has a little tear, aaaah man as a kid it always got me lol
This is something ofah did so well, they could go from comedy to tragedy then back to comedy again in an instant, like a Shakespearean play. Two stick in my mind, Cassandra's miscarriage and when Rodney isn't happy with Del after Grandads funeral and Del gives that always playing the tough guy even though he didn't want to speech, brilliant writing and acting, can't beat a bit of Only Fools.
This show is actually more of a dramedy than just out and out sitcom, and these scenes show it.
01:10 ‘I love a nice funeral’
Del: ‘You should hang about, there’s two more after this’
NGL, that one took me a moment to process 🤣👌🍻
The wedding reception as Rodney about to leave, that look between them for me is it.
Some good choices but Grandad’s “heroes for homes” speech struck a chord with me.
They missed the best bit from 'Who Wants To Be A Millionaire': when Rod heads for his bedroom, he stops at his door, turns to Del and says "you know", and Del Says "I know"... they were saying that they love each other...but they can't say it outright.
Don't remember that scene?
The part at Rodney’s wedding do where they both nod at each other, not able to say anything 😭
Del holding the plastic bride and groom and thinking he'll always be alone. In the very next episode he meets Raquel again 🙂
Every single time I hear “Holding Back the Years” by Simply Red (over the last 30 years) I picture Del Boy standing alone as Rodney has flown the nest. Wonderful scene then the genius that was John Sullivan followed it with …. “You don’t live here no more!”
"Bloody 'ell, she'll go loopy!"
@@SamuelBlack84 absolutely brilliant.
One of the best things about OFAH for me was how they could take something so sad or serious and still find humour in it. Like the funeral scene with Grandads/The Vicars hat 🤣
The greatest comedy sitcom.
"You told me that your name was Derek Duvall!"
Camera switches to Rodney's face...😂
You have got to be joking.
The scene where Rodney talks about losing his son and says "I have not felt pain like that in all my life".
That, was the single most powerful moment in the history of this series and, unlike many of the other clips you showed for....whatever reason, ( they weren't serious for the most part ) this part was genuine pain and showed the heart of everyone involved with this production and why it was unique.
Just so much better than anything we get now.
David Jason what a star you are,
The next scene after the crying in hospital
"What"s that?"
"Muesli"
"Blimey, looks like something that's been swept out of a pigeon loft!"
Another emotional scene of mine is where, Delboy is telling Rodney why he has to act the way he does people. I think the line is ‘it’s not because I want to, it’s because I had too, and I’ve played it for so long now I don’t now how to act any diffident’ something along those lines. OFAH is phenomenal acting and can watch it anytime if the year. But Christmas time seems to be the most comforting. Being a London boy when I was at uni I was home sick, I used to put on OFAH and would feel better.
Trig not being able to get the words out, del, knowing. One of the most British scenes ever filmed.
Boomerang Trotter. Always comes back.
Errr has anyone seen my hat? It was just here 😅
Hell of a parting son
BBC must have hours of outtakes from some of the greatest shows but their dvds contain next to none, this, blackadder for instance 😡
What is the last clip in context, when del gets emotional when he’s told there’s nothing wrong with him?
Holy god if it isnt 1st officer William Murdock himself wow look at how Ewan Stewart is there wow.
you silly sod gets me every time!
Rodney best little bro
😢😢😢
Boycie HAHAHAHAHAHA :D
Bloody hell, when Del cries, you cry with him, or at least permit a lump in the throat. If Del Boy can have a moment, then so can any other man.
They simply dont make sitcoms like this anymore
The second clip, del has a point, being rich and not a wheeler dealer weren't for him, he even said near the end of time on our hands once they became rich, he misses the life so if he had taken up jumbo on his offer he would hav been miserable
And some people like to read the "Obituaries"! 🤐
Including you ??????
@@edwardandrews1381 Well, no! But my Mum does! 💋
They should have made Del go to Australia and in the beginning of the next series they could have had him come back for some reason. Or they could have had all 3 of them go to Australia then beginning of the next series have them all come for some reason.
Rodney couldn’t enter Australia for the same reason I’m not allowed to enter North America, cannabis offences.
The crazy part, is that medicinal herb is legal in _many_ parts of North America now, and I’m a licensed patient,…
Still, North America is a bit out of my manor, I don’t really like going further than the shop across the road and even that bloody hurts, lmao 🍻
The original plan was to write David Jason out (he was debating about leaving) and a spin off called “Hot Rod!” Thankfully he decided to stay.
You can deal it
I prefare Uncle Albert to Grandad anyday
These moments are good but far from the most emotional scenes..
4 when rodney gets married leaves the party and turns and looks at del.
5 del returns to the empty flat after becoming a millionaire.
Unable to find uncle Alberts funeral.
just sayin - the guy offered his car because he trusted Del, was trusted to open up after the funeral - trigger is the mate you wished you had
When you could watch the BBC
Pathos peeps
Love this but can't stand the disgusting bbc
They were better in those days, but yes, agreed.
