  • In this video we ask the question: what defines a Full Time Rver? Do they even fit in the Nomad definition or even the Full Time RVer CZcams Category. There are many RV CZcamsrs out there claiming they are Full Time, but are they? We expose the uncensored truth that some RV CZcamsrs won't admit.

“…Repeat. This is not a drill. … Shall we begin?” I LOVE your opener. I’ve seen variety of “full-time” RVers who aren’t really full-time. The label seems to be a marketing ploy for many. I tend to truly enjoy the real full-timers, but find I have a lot to learn from part-timers/weekend warriors. I fit into the weekend warrior, I think, as I tend to go on 1-2wk trips at a time, with a great number of long weekends, in between. I’d love to go full time, but I need the medical benefits my job provides me and I’ve been there way too long to forfeit my pension. My expectations are that a full timer is someone who lives and travels full-time, including working from the road. I can totally understand that some people, these days, might want a basecamp for purposes of rig maintenance and doctor’s appointments, but again, that’s not full time, nomad life/RVing.

"Sometimes in life it is easier to live the lie". So true - especially when there is a profit factor.
But In general, people have an enhanced or exaggerated image of themselves and/or the life they Iive.

Check out the residency requirements for South Dakota and Dakota Post. Looks like the answer for full time on the road.

Good evening Scott I hope you and Ariane are back together soon sounds like you're missing each other greatly. As far as CZcams goes there's too much to comment on but you got it correct. Kind wishes. ✌

Every full timer i have known has eventualy went back to sticks and bricks. At some point and time a full timer has to go back to a house due to health, age, family.

Whew! I was thinking exactly of politicians and celebrities as you described the behavior you've had to deal with. What a weird world we live in where someone who travels or lives in an RV would be considered a celebrity or influencer. That the most legendary in your list was the nicest to you was great to hear. I've cut everyone else on your list out except Traveling Robert. His content is absolutely repetitive. He even makes the same food in rotation from episode to episode, but I love that he composed the soundtrack. And he keeps in the bloopers where he really gets hurt or embarrassed. I get the sense he does not know how to cope with his popularity. His interactions with people in the videos feel awkward and sometimes uncomfortable. To me, that feels real (perhaps it isn't, I haven't met him like you have), and juxtaposed with his content production is strangely comforting. He seems authentic to what he does and intentions for what he wants to do. That said, I have to question the sanity of buying coastal swamp land in Florida, but I understand the intent.

I discovered you & Ariane a few years ago via your Trust the Trail podcast. I'm a day hiker & car/tent camper but your non pretentious attitudes and advice drew me in. Since I don't own an RV I guess I don't have a dog in this fight but I enjoy watching full timers so I can gather ideas for future trips, plan routes, etc. With that being said, the full timers I do watch are a very small group. I've always found some of the more popular ones to be...disingenuous? But I thought it was just me. You confirmed what I've been feeling. I prefer smaller youtubers without sponsorships, who aren't trying to become 'famous'. Great video, looking forward to your next one.

To me, someone who lives in their RV full time, no matter where it might be, are full time RVers by technical definition. But only those who travel around most of the time would qualify to be called "Nomads". I can't tell you how happy you made me saying that Bob Wells is the real deal! He actually was the first Nomad, I discovered some years ago, and now my list I follow are majority, people I saw him interview. I'm so glad he is as he presents himself! I bet I can guess who spammed you with the Kid Rock video, based on their politics. 🙄 Thank you for being authentic!

Bob is a genuine guy. He spent half a day in our Airstream asking us questions about our wood burning stove and was sincerely interested. He films all his videos with a iPhone.

Really Awesome video with great content. I'm a 60 year old guy that finally got the courage to try nomadding with as many things as I already owned to keep the expense down. I've made it to Quartzsite AZ area from Wisconsin & I'm having the time of my life. On the way I've stayed at truck stops, casino parking lots, Walmarts, state parks, primitive camp grounds, & on BLM land. Not to get too long here but I really enjoy watching your old videos when I can.

As a 100% unknown CZcamsr, my wife and I are much more "consumers of CZcams" than "contributors" of CZcams. We chronicled our build series and are sort of trying to figure out what our channel will be when it grows up. We're not fulltime (Yet), but frankly, this lifestyle is more and more appealing every day. Especially in this era of huge inflation.
Of the CZcams channels you mentioned in this video, we have been subscribed to 3 of them over the past year. (Plus yours, of course). One of them we unsubscribed very early on when it became obvious that they were out for views and sponsorships alone. The content was filmed mainly from their living room or from their driveway and was mainly "product reviews" for which they've obviously been compensated or have gotten the products for free to peddle on their channel. Very little actual travel and RV Life content. We unsubscribed quickly.
Another channel you mentioned once had very good content with travel to state parks, RV Parks and general travel content. They seem to have lost their way on their journey, and frankly are not interesting any longer. We hang on because of some of their past content.
On your recommendation, we are going to go over an follow Bob Wells' channel. Every video that we've seen that features him shows a very genuine man who doesn't put on airs for show.
You folks are EXACTLY the kind of people that I would like to meet up with on the road and sit around the campfire just shooting the breeze....
Sorry this is a long comment just to say...RIGHT ON... You guys keep on being you and being awesome.

IMO - Full Time Nomad does not equal Full Time RVer… Full Time RVing is living Full Time in an RV wether Static or Traveling… Again Full Time RVing is NOT Full Time Travel or Nomadism although they can co-exist simultaneously.
