火車經11座隧道，用「螺旋式」繞行獨立山三圈(順時鐘繞行兩圈後，以８字形行駛改逆時鐘繞行一圈)，爬升到12號隧道(海拔762M)後，穿越獨立山頂(海拔840M)續往梨園寮站，所以你可以在左邊窗口看到樟腦寮車站兩次，在右邊看到一次。
