It's like there is something prehistoric in her brain that recognizes those sounds. :D
Yeah I’m really interested in the science of this! But a lot of those sounds are composites of animals they would have lived with in the wild and learned and adapted to avoid. As the sound they most reacted to was a slightly edited large ape call which they would have had to avoid similar apes in the wild.
Didn't they use a lot of bird sounds when making dinosaur sounds, obviously toucan gonna react to that
@@NO-ge6ci partly but the sounds aren’t reconstructions they’re just real animal sounds. They reacted the most the the ape sounds as they were prey for them in the wild.
Poor Rhea - looking at you and wondering why Dad isn't freaked out by the dinosaur invasion!
@@2CANTV Maybe stop scaring your friend? Be kind? That poor bird was clearly frightened.
@@The-KPthe bird is fine, don’t tell him how to take care of his birds cause we all know he is a master at it at this point
Isn’t that an alarm call she’s doing? Like “Uh dad! The trailer is now ground zero and we gotta make like autobots and roll out!”
The ancestors are calling to her, her primordial instincts are kicking in😅
this must be like when we go to your grandma's house and she shows you all of the old photo books of your entire family tree 😂❤️
Rhea was like "bruh dad this shit scary" 😂😂😂
Wow! It's actually interesting to see the Toucan (an actual living dinosaur) react to artificially made sounds, maybe paleontologists are getting closer to what non-avian Dinosaurs sounded. What I found really interesting is as that it reacted more to Theropod sounds and booked it when it heard a larger theropod sound like Daspletosaurus and Tyrannosaurus.
@@Jazzy-JeppieBirds are dinosaurs, they rather have common ancestors.
@@MicaelAlighieri I know, thank you ! I'm not a kid ! Greetings from France 🙂🇨🇵
The poor bird seemed so scared. Beautiful bird. My cat reacted to the sound too.
My cats freaked tf out too but my dogs just woke up, looked at me like "huh, interesting" and went back to sleep. I wonder if more intelligent animals just aren't bothered by it? Or maybe dogs still have the Apex predator mentality of wolves? I suppose it could just be that they didn't evolve it the presence of a threat that makes that type of noises so their brains aren't wired to associate it with danger. But domestic cats and their predecessors have historically always been hunted by birds of prey so it makes sense that those sounds would instinctively trigger the fight or flight response.
It would be interesting to see how large parrots, ravens, and different classes of primates reacted to it!
@@jagoldenpyrenees491 I disagree; your experience is anecdotal and not backed scientifically. Dogs have been domesticated far longer than cats and many dogs are no longer in touch with their ancestral instincts, so some kind of strange noise wouldn’t bother them. A lot dogs will even bark at any noise, anything they see outside, etc. Also, dogs are pack animals and chances are if the rest of their pack (including you) isn’t reacting, they may not either. House cats are a self domesticated species, and the majority of feline species are solitary hunters. They have better senses than dogs and are more stealthy and cautious. So it makes sense that certain noises might cause them anxiety or pique their interest. I have 4 cats who heard this video and had no reaction whatsoever.
@@jagoldenpyrenees491 I think it's more like if it sounds close enough to your species, they'll react to it. YOu didn't start seeing a reaction until Utahraptor at 0:20 but nothing from Velociraptor at the beginning.
@@PhoenixRoseYT None of the 15 reacted beyond "wtf are you watching, mom?" including the idgit Pomeranian who barks at everything or the Aussie with PTSD, but they do occasionally have a good howl when an ambulance goes by(😂) so I think it's more that none of the notes are close enough to Canine for them to care. The sound of humans or other dogs in distress however freaks them all the way out. Anything with a crying baby or puppy has to be watched on mute in my house lol. Even just a puppy making normal puppy sounds immediately gets EVERYONE'S attention.
She’s like “Grandma is that you?”
Funny how freaking scary dinosaur sounds are and now we have birds like budgies that sound like lil toys.
True, although I'm reasonably sure that if you blew up a budgie to the size of a car and pitched its voice down accordingly, it would sound pretty freaky.
Oh my goodness! This is fascinating. Thank you for introducing your little friend to his ancestors! This was such a joy to watch. Thanks for watching!
This is so interesting in the way she reacts to the carnivorous dinosaurs compared to the triceratops, I wonder if it’s an instinctual response to the sounds (from very early avian evolution alongside dinosaurs) or if they’re just similar sounding calls to modern predators of toucans
I feel like it's a bit of both! Maybe it's like how we instinctually react to different frequencies to dictate wether or not it's coming from a carnivorous or herbivorous animal??
I have no idea how to explain it but all I know is hearing deer/horse/goat/cow sounds nearby just doesn't trigger anxiety like the sounds of big cats/hyenas/crocs/bears do, it's like a primal built in feature, that works for both ancient and current sounds.
Toucan: "ANCESTORS HEAR MY CALL!!!"
And now my Chihuahua is losing his gourd at the dinosaur/modern dinosaur noises.
The toucan’s reaction reflects the accuracy 😂
That was a rather serious reaction to those dinosaurs, long lost cousins showing up
Rhea is going to spend the night looking for the dino horde in her house to fence with all of them
Thanks, my chickens hated it.😂
I’m very interested in the biology here! Being a dinosaur themselves I can see they react to certain sounds they wound have adapted to be afraid of in their natural habitat. But they also respond strangely to sounds not familiar to their natural habitat. This could turn out to be a great way of identifying what dinosaurs might have sounded like!
Looks like I'm not the only one who's been algorithmically blessed with dinosaur noises
Bro is hearing their ancient relatives speaking to them and is completely bamboozled
It's fascinating that some of the calls warrant silence and the others trigger response or alert calls.
Now this is the kind of react content I can get behind lol
A reaction done by a modern dinosaur

Great. Now I'm going to have to spend the day listening to dinosaur sounds instead of doing what I really need to do. Thanks, buddy. The stuff I really need to do is too stressful, though. Always looking for a way out. Sigh,...
The Sound from Toucan and Dinosaurs is awesome
The interaction between the sounds of the dinosaurs and that of the toucan is very interesting... the bird is scared but perhaps because they are similar to its sounds and songs.
"Finally someone who speaks my language!"
This reminds me of a video I made of my sister’s dogs. We played a CZcams video of a wolf howling and they both joined it and couldn’t stop until a minute after we turned the video off. 😆
Was that "Caution other flockmates, I hear danger" sound? Or just adding her call to the mix?
I'm not really sure. She was trying to call attention to it but I'm not sure if it was out of fear or just confusion. I believe they used a lot of bird noises and edited them for that video so there was probably something uncanny to her about them.
its interesting it seems from what we like she was only alerting to the carnivorous dinosaurs. she was pretty chill for the triceratops i don't know if that was because she was used to it by then or what.
would love you experiment with that 🤔
Birds Love Sound Dinosaurs
Toucan:Why do these sounds sound familiar?
"Grandpa? Is that you?"
"Grandpa?"

Danger danger we must flee
So interesting seeing her react to the theropods sounds but going quiet with the ceratopsid 😍😍😍
Dryptosaurus sounds so BWA HA HA HA. must be Bowser's ancestors.
Lol in the original Mario movie, it did say he evolved from a tyrannosaurus.
Dryptosaurus is a type of tyrannosaur after all
I hope Scientists have considered conducting experiments like this, after all, seeing how birds and reptiles react to Dinosaur sounds might provide us with valuable insight into the language of Dinosaurs.
The thing is we don't know what dinosaurs sounded like. The video says "scientifically accurate dinosaur sounds" but it's more like "scientifically informed dinosaur sounds." The sounds being used for the dinosaurs in this video are just edited bird calls, which is slightly better than using tiger roars and elephant trumpets. The only dinosaur that we have somewhat of an idea sounded like was Parasaurolophus, because some scientists made a replica of a Parasaurolophus crest and blew air into it like a musical instrument. Modern dinosaurs also wouldn't understand prehistoric dinosaurs even if they were alive. If I somehow recorded a caveman speaking a forgotten language, you wouldn't actually recognize it as words. All that toucan hears is loud noises, not some ancient language.
@@jacobcox4565 And yet Toucan was making certain reactions to certain sounds. And even if a modern person wouldn’t recognize the words of a caveman, I think anyone could recognize talking in general when they hear it.
@@jackbelinski2661 The toucan wasn't trying to communicate with the distorted bird calls. It was most likely making an alarm sound, which makes sense because those sounds were loud and unsettling. When I said you'd just register a forgotten paleolithic language as noise. I meant gibberish. Gibberish can sound like a language, but it's still just nonsense, and by "nonsense" I mean it doesn't make sense. Some people might recognize it as a language or some kind, but that's because we're all the same species and are really good at picking up patterns.
@@jacobcox4565 I’m not saying the Toucan was trying to communicate,
I’m just saying it was reacting. And AGAIN even if you don’t understand a lost Paleolithic language, you would not only notice certain patterns, but you would also react in certain ways as you try to comprehend the language. You know what I’m saying? In any case, you make some fair points
@@jackbelinski2661 That's all communication is when you really boil it down, just reacting in certain ways to certain sounds and/or actions
Brock, are your toucans scared or excited by these sounds? It’s difficult to tell.
well, she understood something, I wonder what they ere talking about😲😲
I love that thing Rhia does when her neck cranks down like a tire jack, you know she’s about to start calling.

Omg that reaction is amazing
If birds are dinosaurs, would that make triceratops the closest real-world equivalent to griffins?
That toucan knows whats up.. clearly
As if the Toucan has genes from when dinosaurs were alive
You live with literal dinosaurs in your house.
Regarding the blueberries, I believe you need to have 2 bushes to have them to continue to produce berries, so you should get a second one.

The video the noises are from calls the sounds ‘scientifically accurate’ even though they’re just deepened or pitch altered noises of living animals and not actual reconstructions of what real non-avian dinosaurs would sound like.
And also the depiction of Tyrannosaurus is inaccurate; Tyrannosaurus was featherless and slightly pudgy looking.

Very interesting reaction, however I’m more curious about those “scientifically accurate” recordings given dinosaurs became extinct 60+ million years ago. Did scientists “recreate” those sounds based on cranial structures of fossils, or ???
They recreated these sounds using a mixture of bird sounds and croc bellows, (birds is descended from non avian dinosaurs, while Crocs are closely related). Note that most Non avain dinosaurs don't have a syrinx or any sort of vocal cords, so they would bellow and hiss, rather than roar. These recreated sounds are purely speculation and some of these creatures could have possibly sounded entirely differently.
Historically, scientists have used mammalian or reptilian sounds to 'replicate' what dinosaurs might have sounded like. These are pitched down bird calls, and as such, they are almost certainly a much more accurate representation. Just how much more accurate is speculative.
@jennifersaar1611 Dinosaurs most likely would've made sounds in a similar manner to crocodiles, as they did not have syrinxes like modern birds do.
sons especulativos sem base científica, eu me lembro desses sons quando saio na época, na verdade não há estudos reconstruindo sons de terópodes, isso é apenas sons aleatórios de pássaros
The fact she screamed alarmingly when predatory dinosaur sounds were there, but when triceratops aka herbivore sounds came on, she calmed down. Interesting.
not to mention she seemed to be trying to almost communicate with the utharaptor.
