So... 2 of my children were visiting Polyface Farm with their 4H group while you were filming. They were so excited to come home and tell me that they met Joel Salatin and saw you in the distance (and your family)(disappointed that they didn't meet you as well). Such a neat experience! Thanks for sharing all you do and inspiring another generation to embrace sustainable living!

What a great man he is. Working with all of nature and not mega corps to grow food and keep the land alive as nature has done for millions of years. I so respect how he willingly shares his wealth of knowledge with others. Totally selfless.

I absolutely love that interview with Joel. Talk about a guy really in tune to his business model, take the cost out and let nature feed them. Subbed with this one. I don’t even farm pigs or plan on it. But that was incredibly informative.

Im 20 now and live in the city but cant wait to buy some land and a house to start doing what you are doing. I love your way of life where you take it down to what life really is and I think that all humans need more of this. Im studying molecular biology and would love to somehow combine that with this lifestyle cause that would be amazing. I just dont know how to start and manage both having a farm and study/work at the same time and where I would be able to do that. If there are any other in their 20's comment so we can discuss what to do with our lives haha.

Wow! That was super fantastic. I hung on every word from beginning to end. Mr Salatin does use big words, LOL, but in the context he uses them, anybody can understand. If I can understand him definitely anyone can understand him. He is so knowledgeable that if I were closer I would go anywhere he is speaking. I love this trip y'all are on, one of my favorite videos so far. If I were a younger man I would jump at the opportunity to intern under him. Fantastic video guys, I was amazed at moving those pigs. Anyway long comment sorry, God bless y'all, stay safe, and we'll see you tomorrow. Jimmy

3 Questions. Do they reseed the paddock after the pigs were there or is there seeds dormant in the soil that grows when pigs are off?. Does grass and herbatious plants get time to go to seed between rotation? How long between rotations?

I have just watched a string of your videos about this man and his family/farm.
You do a great job with these videos.
You seem to have a real and deep interest in this, and you know how to ask pertinent questions without being an 'interviewer' as it were.
I have the feeling I saw this man, Joel, in a video some years ago whose theme was farm-reared vs factory-farm-reared animals and the effect that has on the quality of the meat products and their healthiness (fewer/less bad bacteria etc.)
Anyway thanks a lot for sharing these. I am enjoying each of them more than the last.
By the way, are all American farm girls quite this attractive?
I think I want to buy a farm in the U.S. :) Just kidding.

As a young boy, I drove a Berkshire boar over a mile to breed a neighbors sow in less than an hour just walking behind him and only moved right or left to allow him to see me if he veered off. He'd straighten out and keep going. Coming back was a little bit harder to get him started and then he settled back into rhythm.. less than an hour coming back. The second time it took about 3/4 of an hour...(he figured out where he was going...) I did carry a long stick with a flag on it and only yelled if he wasn't paying attention. Pigs are smart and if you're willing to get down and communicate once in a while they will know you're not out to harm them and will try to cooperate. Berkshires are the meanest and stupidest breed I ever worked with. Most of mine were Pole and China. BIG compared to yours.
