Not against any social media brand building. But from the perspective of a recruiter I would rather evaluate those candidates from a few different parameters rather than their social media quotient. The candidates might have equal amount of experience and similar skillsets, but it is very unlikely that they would have same personalities moreover same soft skills. I would rather judge them on their analytical and problem-solving skills, their growth mindset etc. etc. I think I proved my point. You can definitely promote something but make sure you are starting it with a good foundation.

Well, make jokes all you want! But that's the future norm. Not jobs per say, but yeah, the opportunities that you get from social media are immense. Try and read books or blogs by Gary Vee for example. You'll know more. 😊

Additionally, "getting opportunities through social media" and calling out "hobbies section of a resume has as much weightage as that of other pedigree mentioned on the resume if not less " is like looking at the same queue through FIFO and LIFO lense.

It has many benefits for say if a candidate has something creative in his profile it always gives an idea to the employer, how the candidate can influence the companies new projects and opportunities. If the candidate is really active on social media... This indicates that the candidate can be very social with his colleagues and in turn it will create a healthy environment in the company... You say that she has mainly children as her followers... So let me ask you Is she the only one who is doing this??? Usually children grasp whatever is relevant to them... So if not her they can grasp the same thing from someone else.... So she only intends to inspire some targeted people who also wants to do the same things like her or someone who is willing to be unique in their respective fields.... So please stop stereotyping her and understand the values she wants to convey. Thank you 🙂🙂
