Wonderful rendition of an old classic from the legendary MIghty Sparrow! It's nice to see other cultures embracing Calypso music, especially Sparrow's!. Shows that he has literally inflenced many parts of the world with his captivating songs and has indisputably put T & T on the map in more ways than one!. I too would love to see Sparrow perform with this group and others that promote his music.Would also love to see T & T govt.give recognition to Sparrow for all he has contributed to T & T's music, culture, tourism and inadvertently, it's capital!

A beautiful interpretation and indication of the power of great music, and how far it can go to touch a life. I completely enjoyed this performance of a fabulous Sparrow classic!

Cool! I'd only ever heard Mighty Sparrrow's classic Calypso original, which I grew up hearing my parents playing on record. Would never have imagined a non-Caribbean covering it. Great stuff!

I love this rendition. It's great to see appreciation for our Caribbean music, but I would have liked to see credits go to the Mighty Sparrow "Slinger Francisco" as the original creator of the lyrics and the title.

  • @fasttrackindependentcontra7073

I saw this song by Mighty Sparrow played by the Uganda Army in January 1971. Those soldiers played like it were original and I have not forgotten it since...... come to think of it, it is 50 years ago.

After seeing that warning at the begining of this video, i hope they had permission from the Mighty Sparrow to use his intellectual property.

walkwitmeh427 That's. A very good. Question this is 2 years later and I showed several. Persons this and its the first for all who viewed this video but even the way it's written. In the section below shows. No mention. Of the Man himself so I would not. Be surprised. If they are. Trying to pass it off as their own. History has shown it wouldn't. Be the first time

@@differentvoice2282 -really? I saw Eliza Carthy and Saul Rose perform this at Sidmouth many years ago and Eliza told the story of how she came by this song, via her mother's record collection. There has never ever been any attempt to pass it off as their own original work. Also, what other times you allude to?
