1:50 hey im in blender 4.0 and even setting the value to the negatives doesnt make the animation play the opposite direction. it keeps getting smaller no matter what.
the SDF nodes don't seem to exist in any current blender version but if you have higgsas geometry nodes there will be similar nodes and it works with them too (there the normals are as one would expect).
I have good mystery to solve. How to render motion blur on object like this? Cycles don't give vecotrs on geomtry nodes object with constantly changing topology. Is ther a way? I know trick with giving Named attribute with "velocity" name but its buggy and blurring static mesh too 😅 Can you solve this mystery?
I don't have the new volume nodes :( How can I get it?? I turned on the interface, developer extras, then in experimental, I only have one tab which is debugging, nothing else. Can someone help me please? Thank you
Yes..I found it annoying too, more people will encounter this, once you know why you may accept it, but not before:) just click on add, and start to write, and it automaticly should search. Then there is control f, but it will fail to find items located to far deep within the node hiearchy. You can also right click and there is the search find tool, but same there, it fails to find nodes to deep in to the structure ..this is essential the same as ctrl f..so the best bet is to simply click on add for the nodes, and start typing
i'm new to blender, would appreciate some help here: i'm trying to do this anymation with a Group input of a "model" i made. Unfortunately the model dissapears after the first frame when i press play and its not animating (when i change the input to a cube it all works fine.. Anyone knows what could be the problem here?
The group input you mention is an object input? meaning you use it to link the object which contains the geometry of the model you made? Does it happen no matter what object you link? Make sure the simulation nodes loop isn't just deleting the input geometry.
@@MrTomyCJ thanks a lot for the answer. yes when i use a cube as input it all works. How can i make that the loop isn't deleting my geometry. Sorry but i'm quite new to blender.
Impressive work, i purchased the file off Gumroad, it doesnt seems to work tough...some of the individual nodes behave differently (voxel threshold, scale and so on) and the Mesh to SDF Volume doesnt exists anymore. have u had some of those issues?
Seems like the crucial nodes, Mesh to SDF etc. have been removed, I can't find any branch or version to play with them in either. EDIT: I found them in old Blender 4.0 Alpha builds, e.g. blender-4.0.0-alpha+daily.37eabb171a71
Deletes the default cube, adds a cube, unplugs the input geometry (which is a cube) and add a cube node in geometry nodes. Awesome!
the default cube like "Am i a joke to you"
Congratulations for being the first blender tutorial I have followed in about 1 year
Wow, mindblowing again! Also thanks for the tip of going outside, I always forget about that
perfect timing! I badly want to test an effect like this with music. thanks for the tut!
Love your tutorials 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Love your ending, great work
Wow this one is on another level
so cool! clever setup!
OMG!! This is all I ever wanted!
Great! Do more tutorials like this, where you explain the node setups step by step while building them.
this was a HUGE subscribe fo me, really awesome work!!!
Looks sick!
so cool!!!! also love the ending :)
so awesome!
Tried to do this for a long time with mixed sucess in blender (custom python scripts, sverchok etc), awesome to see that it's here now
I have fun. Great tutorial!
You're amazing.
very nice effect
Love! Love! Love!
deffenetly learned... THX.
Now to google what differential growth means & make a calculate curvature node? Love this. Also the duck at the end!
Geo nodes look a bit less terrifying after watching your tutorial. Looks dope!
Do they?! I'm shitting my pants here... My (real) brain is fried after watching this.
the man is a genious
Cool.
oh my that escalated quickly 😂
Great tutorial though

the Scale operation keeps shrinking the mesh with no modifications, dunno why

Do you know how should I calculate the curve part with positive normals?
Very cool, and also neat. I will simply not go outside though. Thank you.
Hahaha, not even for the ducks?!
look ducks are cool and stuff but inside has my bed and puter.@@seanterelle
Is there a workaround for discontinued "mesh to SDF Volume" node? thanks

Hi I have blender 4.1 alpha and yet after enabling new volume nodes, the MESH TO ADF VOLUMES node isn't appearing
the same for me
@@svetlanatitova5505 They've removed it apparently
Same here
i think its mesh to volume node now but i am having trouble with this tutorial just 1:41 in so...
Between 2:22 - 3:10 I got a stroke. I wish I knew geo nodes this well! :D
Why can't i see the 'mesh to sdf volume' node? Running 4.1 alpha and follow everything as the video but I still don't get that option ☹
Same here, I do not have it either, maybe it has to be installed/loaded with the provided scenefile?
IT WON'T LET ME DOWNLOAD BLENDER 4.1 APLHA AND I'M GOING INSAIN. Please help! 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

I don't have dot product either. :((
I love this. I got a bit lost when you were calculating the curvature though. Isn't their a node that can already calculate curvature?
In shader nodes yes but I don’t think there is one in geometry nodes
@@seanterelle That's a shame. Is there a way to read shader attributes into geometry nodes?
@@mdoerkse No, Shader Nodes are always calculated after Geometry Nodes, as far as I understand
@@todesdigga3891 That makes sense. At least, it wouldn't make sense if geometry could affect shaders AND shaders could affect geometry.
You can also calculate mesh curvature based on the Edge Angle node
For whatever reason the node search function is absent from my experimental build. Highly annoying

How can i make that the loop isn't deleting my geometry.
Sorry but i'm quite new to blender.
when i render, a white cube appears in the middle that isn’t there in my render viewport, does anyone know how to fix this?
Is there a default cube in the outliner with the ‘visible in viewport’ toggle set to false but ‘visible in render’ set to true?

ich habe blender 4,1 alpha und das häcken in den einstellungen gesetzt. es existiert keine sdf volume node
same for me, I tried various versions a can't find it
Removed my comment, I wasn´t following the video properly, the mesh sdf nodes aren´t there though..after activating experimental and volume nodes.
When I m out, all I see is noise texture
how do you know all that
