    The gauge changing "Goldenpass Express" will finally be introduced on 11th of december 2022 (next timetable change) between Montreux and Interlaken Ost. You still have to change at Interlaken Ost, because the Interlaken Ost - Luzern line has cogwheel sections and the gauge changing boogies aren't equiped with cogwheel technology.

      Aaahhh good to know, tomorrow I'll publish part 2, I can't add this information in the video yet but I guess I'll add it to the description.

    What a great video. I enjoyed every bit of it. I loved that you went into so much detail at the Lucerne station as I’ll be there for Easter Monday and wasn’t sure what all businesses is there and that’s one of the only places opened during Easter! Thanks a bunch!

    Thanks for the great review! I loved seeing what Luzern station has to offer and the fabulour panorama cars and the views. I have done the sections from Montreux to Interlaken so this part of the trip is on my bucket list! Thanks also for the really interesting information on the new Stadler gauge changing technology. The new trains look awesome!

      Yes, actually the entire route is really pretty. Making a break along the way is absolutely worth doing by the way. There is so much to see during this trip that the last part wasn't that much appreciated as we should. There will be a video for the second part, however I try to mix video's for different destinations a bit, so it might take a while before it's there.

    Just fyi, CAF, another Spanish comany, can also make gauge-changing trains with their own BRAVA bogies system (see series 120 and 121). Great video!

    Die Zentralbahn fährt zwischen Luzern und Sarnen oft mit 120 km/h. Nach meiner Kenntnis ist dies die schnellste Meterspurbahn in Europa. Die Sitze in der 2. Klasse erscheinen mir etwas schmal. Dies wird normal sein für Meterspur. Vermutlich ist die Breite der Wagen geringer als bei Normalspur. Danke für das interessante Video bei bestem Spätsommer-Wetter 😃

    Hi. thx for a great video. I see a train referred to as " Lucern to Interlaken Express" which takes less than 2 hrs to get to Interlaken BUT I also hear it also refer as "Golden Pass Lucern to Interlaken" as you have . Are they the same ?

    • @Trainviking
      @Trainviking  Před 6 měsíci +1

      Yes, the Luzern- Interlaken Express is a part of the Golden Pass Line. The Golden Pass Line officially runs between Luzern via Interlaken, Spiez & Zweisimmen to Montreaux.

    • @Trainviking
      @Trainviking  Před rokem

      I honestly don't know. When I was travelling it wasn't needed in the summer of 2021. These trains go every hour so I guess when you have time and when it's bussy, you can just hop on the next one. It's possible to reserve though, so if you rather play safe, you can do this.

    • @JanPBtest

      No. This train runs every hour (it's partially used by locals as the work commute and I'm sure they don't make seat reservations 🙂). Especially 1st class is almost always on the empty side in my experience.

    • @JanPBtest
      @JanPBtest Před 11 měsíci

      @@charenmrodriguezcastro9280 I use 1st class upon arrival in Zurich when riding away from the airport. The airport-to-central-Zurich segment can get crowded in 2nd class and it's just not very nice when you nurse a jetlag and luggage. Other than that there is very rarely any need for 1st class. On this train both the 1st and 2nd class cars have panoramic windows (tall and partially extending over the roof edge).
