    There are 14 districts in Kerala...u can see varieties of tourist spots ranging from hillls to beaches...only things we lack is a desert....

      Karnataka you will find all what Kerala talk about its exclusive nature plus desert, historical monuments except snow. Only issue with Karnataka Tourism is not their major industry as they have better income from other sources. Next 10yrs you can have long house boat travel even in backwaters MH, Odessa, Bengals, AP, TN etc.

    A person who was born and raised in Kerala does not know the beauty of Kerala without going outside Kerala. The beauty of Kerala can be understood only after going outside Kerala and seeing other places.

    The one good thing in kerala is, most of the people are religious, but not fundamentalists. every one keeps his/her religion private without disturbing others even in the sense of physical appearence, dress code, symbols and food.
    people live as a community cooperating each other and participate every one in all religion's celebrations..
    I feel this is the best thing to learn from kerala in all India level

      shukoor pookayil, Physical appearance and dress code are concerned, l like before 1980's. No one could be guessed by appearance. Due to gulf boom things have changed a lot.Articles of Sunday specials hindustan times and times of India about kerala, in those days were all about white clad men and womens of kerala.

      Cows are domesticated but we kerala people doesn't allow cows to roam around in streets and road.
      When i visited New Delhi i was really annoyed to see cows roaming around in city roads

On the other hand the cow is considered holy by Hindus and when they see someone killing and eating a cow retaliation will follow. It's like when Joseph sir mocked Islam you guys chopped his hands and if someone eats a cow in North India he is bound to get killed.

      Mr Panikar the oldest know rulers of kerala was The cheras dynasty ...The name Kerala came from Chera + layam ( land of cheras ) and at some stage it was charalayam .

      I think the name came from cheralam, which is 'cheran aalum idam'. As s malayaali living in tamilnadu, i'm pretty convinced that colloquial malayalam is modified tamil.

    Do u live there permanently? Kya aapko Kerala mein language barrier ki problem hui hai? I'm thinking to shift to Kerala permanently but I'm a bit sceptical about how would I communicate with the local people around there.! Please reply if possible.

      You won't find find it very hard to survive. You can always find someone who would communicate in English. Try to settle in semi-urban or urban area.
