Daddy has been tweaking the *audio* in editing to try and make my voice more bearable! Let me know if it sounds *better* or *worse* in this video compared to how it has been sounding in recent videos! ♥
Your voice is supposed to be unbearable? That's news to me.
Well, I'll be honest, I see no difference. Which I guess is a good thing then.
English is not my first language and i definetely can understand better, not sure what changed though
I thought fast nasally talking was your schtick tho? I mean, outside of taking people to pound town.
Not sure if you're twisting our nipples or something, but it does sound better.
Not quite related but I noticed you don't seem to promote decknut anymore
The real ones are watching this instead of the Super Bowl
That was today!?
lol watching both right now
Both good
What's a super bowl
@@Nintendo64nerd Too much green to hit packed up
I watched an MTGGoldfish video on the history of modern and saw Daddy's Humans deck video. Made me happy to see him getting recognized
You mean the humans deck that existed long before MTG Aids made a video about it, and was popularized by a player playing it that wasnt MTGAids? Delusional fanboys strike again!
@@Luckingsworth Thank god your triggered autism came to the rescue!
This channel improves my English listening skills the most😂
This Cloak deck reminds me of the time a man in a trench coat ran up to me and showed me a really weird hot dog under it.
At no point in the deck tech did I expect what the next card would be... This is truly one of the pile decks of all time
Being able to pick it up & force/subtlety or replay is nice.🎉
It's the way you end every sentence for me 😂
Always happy to see a magic aids video on my feed. ❤
If you can cloak a Ragavan the ability to uncloak it for its mana cost means you can probably sneak in an unblockable hit in situations where the card would ordinarily be pretty dead. There's also Sleep-Cursed Faerie, where Coat allows you to cheat on the stun counters and again it's cheap to flip without needing Ephemerate. Controlling what you cloak might be more of a Timeless thing due to Brainstorm being legal there though. Or maybe Legacy, since Arena doesn't have the real spice for this sort of thing like Phyrexian Dreadnought, though I don't really know what Legacy is like these days thanks to all the commander product.
Cryptic cloak making waves, i knew this card was a limited bomb, but didnt expect as much play in constructed
It is certainly a difficult card to evaluate! Most of its hype is probably overblown, but a few copies in the right deck does seem like a big brain move! 🧠
It could work like a True Name Nemesis at home in Merfolk.
5:29 "Realizing how math works..." 😆
Love your videos! And I don't even play magic!
For ideas I saw aspiringspike make a cool brew with cryptic coat
I'm on a slightly diff version of spike's brew and i am on one of the most impressive winning "streaks" (a few losses here and there), it works really well ! I splash in a breeding pool which enables me to play pick your poison in my sb. Spike is right on the number of coats, u don't want more than 2, that is for sure ! 2 coats 4 stonefiorge mystics 1 kaldra is enough, i side out 1 coat very often as it is there to grind mainly (also very good vs yawg weirdly enough, kaldra gets haywired with no body left on the board, and if u can leave 2 mana up to bounce cloak they can't really mite it hah hah). I am really unlucky though because i keep cloaking cards that i cant ephemerate back into play, but win a lot despite this hah hah. It is gonna become a real tier 1,5 deck i think soon, and leave the "brew" category. Well its not really a brew is it, it's azorius stoneblade with a new toy. This is the best ephemerate deck i have ever played, but i never really played much at the "ephemerate risen reef" era (was that a big thing back then ?), as i really played modern seriously only after LoR and thus bowmasters, which killed risen reef
The cloak seems really good with eldrazi. Throw in preordained and seamen visions to change the top of the deck
Im number 2 who liked. Love your content !!!
Nice! I'm glad you like the videos!! ♥♥
Cryptic Coat really reminds me of Illusionary Mask. I made a legacy deck using it to summon Phyrexian Dreadnought, and was surprisingly consistent. For modern use, the first thing I thought was using it for summoning morph creatures or just replaying and blinking it for an army of 2/2 ward {2} creatures, with the upside of turning them face-up (using Retract to return the cloaks to hand and abusing cheap ETB artifacts). Stratus Dancer and Kheru Spellsnatcher sound extra kinky too.
I can see the similarities! If only it were legal in Modern!
Illusionary Mask
{2}
Artifact
{X}: You may choose a creature card in your hand whose mana cost could be paid by some amount of, or all of, the mana you spent on {X}. If you do, you may cast that card face down as a 2/2 creature spell without paying its mana cost. If the creature that spell becomes as it resolves has not been turned face up and would assign or deal damage, be dealt damage, or become tapped, instead it’s turned face up and assigns or deals damage, is dealt damage, or becomes tapped. Activate only as a sorcery.
Match 3 made me think about wheel of fate with bloodbraid marauder and orcish bowmasters/narset. Could be interesting to try out that strategy in modern. you get all the decent interaction at 2+ mana too
We would need delirium for bloodbraid marauder, but it sounds sick!
@@MagicAids this sounds sick please brew us up something magic man
This deck made my stuff rise
it felt so powerful in draft
huge props to the Ad Naus chad
Who needs to see who win in the Super Bowl. What matters is daddy vs the modern metagame
I forgot it was today... I've been brewing decks nonstop that I have no idea what's happening in the real world 😅
Money Pile featuring Batterskull (2024)
I think trying it with cards like kroxa could be good OR doing this package as a saga/brainstone scry deck to put a big eldrazi on top or a girdle brand and ephemerate those could be spicy.
Esper Scam or a Control shell maybe? Cloak clearly works with ETBs and ephemerate, but does it also work as a win condition on its own in Modern?
“But that was @ss was too deep…”
😭😭😂😂😂😂☠️
my first thought with cryptic cloak would be eldrazi shenanigans
Tidebinder instead of omnomnath? That card is broken but it looks like you tap out most turns. But imagine ephemerate on a cloaked tidebinder? Sounds fun
Holy fuck what did you sideboard after that first game... daddies mouth must have been full!! hahaha
Honestly I feel like this deck is like so close to just being old school cawblade that maybe try it as just cawblade?
That might work! Squadron Cawk does work well with solitude!
@@MagicAids I also like it for the idea of running what is effectively a 40 card deck in a way. Hawks find each other, stoneforges find equipments, and fetches find lands. you can filter a good amount of your worst options for coat in the first 3 turns so that dropping it on turn 3 finds a tasty tasty treat more often.
Is there enough flicker support to make this work in Pioneer, you think?
It seems like having yorion legal in Pioneer would make it so!
Yorion, Sky Nomad
{3}{W/U}{W/U}
Legendary Creature - Bird Serpent
Companion - Your starting deck contains at least twenty cards more than the minimum deck size. (If this card is your chosen companion, you may put it into your hand from outside the game for {3} as a sorcery.)
Flying
When Yorion enters the battlefield, exile any number of other nonland permanents you own and control. Return those cards to the battlefield at the beginning of the next end step.
4/5
I would love to see you take a crack at building this. Your brewing is always top-notch.@@MagicAids
Imagine this: a deck can use Thassa's Oracle in its fair mode to stack the top of the deck and choose that Cryptic Coat will cloak. I think the best target would be Leveler, because you prevent its ETB from triggering, and you have a backup plan of casting the Leveler, and then casting the Oracle. Jace the Mind Sculptor can put back any cards you draw that you'd rather have cloaked.
Leveler 5
Artifact Creature - Juggernaut
When Leveler enters the battlefield, exile all cards from your library.
10/10
You'd probably rather play brainstone. This lets you also be an urza's saga deck, which adds both consistency and a relatively powerful backup plan in the constructs
7:21 You could have swung in because elish norn turned off ring when it entrered play
The meta is shifting towards more value based decks so now I have to come up with something to beat it. My betrayal deck isn’t cutting it anymore lol
Anything that dumps on cascade decks seems pretty gud at the moment!
@@MagicAids yawgmoth seems to be my local lgs favorite but yeah cascade is a thing too 🤔
@@MagicAids I’m going to try two combo decks. A squirming emergence deck that hits omniscience turn 3 and a gemstone appraiser deck that should hit emrukal turn 3
Cryptic coat slivers?
If I was still playing Modern, Cryptic Coat would be going straight into my Emeria Titan deck. Cheat out an early Sun Titan and let the value train roll on? Yes please!
Once again blue gets another thing.
imagine showing this decklist to someone playing in 1999
Imagine showing this to someone in 2019, before MH1 even came out! Most of this deck isn’t even 5 years old!
Thank you daddy
As someone that just wants too see omnath decks die anything that works towards that has temporary approval
can you try a deck with leyline of the guildpact and scion of draco thanks comment back to let me know lol
Soon! 😉
Not during the Super Bowl daddy!!!! Don't make me choose!! ;) Thank you!!
I forgot it was today... I've been brewing decks nonstop that I have no idea what's happening in the real world 😅
@@MagicAids that's awesome!!! Good thing there's way too many commercials in football. Looking forward to seeing your new crafts!
This video is 10 times better than the Super Bowl
No it isn't you beta
At what point did he become completely unintelligible?

@@hp5310 omg is he ok?
Lost first place at my pre-release event to cryptic coat. card was so fucking stupid to play against didn’t matter how good I played or what my cards were. when one card can win the game by itself, even through multiple removal spells it’s way too strong for sealed.
Dang! It sounds like it's pretty rough to play against a card that never goes away! I hope you open one next time!!
@@MagicAids I do too! Great Games by the way. looking forward to your next video!
Cascade/discover into Wheel of fate + hollow one, im super high right now and needed to write that down somewhere.
Edit - zoyowa's justice + some rock that when it "leaves the battlefield" effect not dies...
Super high... wheel of fate made me think of my favorite high variant deck.
There ain’t anything like dreadnought with a shitty ETB to cheat is there?
Think stoneforge is essential, and cloaked guy is unblockable, so hammer time variant seems obvious.
But we could go all-in on coat for the memes. Ragavan seems like the best hit on the cloak for actually paying, and curves nicely.
If you're doing that it seems interesting to have goblin engineer, who can turn a treasure into a coat, and can recycle coats for a red.
So you could do the trash for treasure goblin engineer pile with Graaz and Phyrexian portal, 4x ring.
But make it Jeskai, with ephemerate and stoneforge. Ephemerate is good with goblin engineer anyway, and the deck probably wants Seasoned Pyromancers.
Having stoneforge into Kaldra Compleat is a nice way to offset the graveyard plan, and coat can peel your wincons off the top.
Seems like you could get a good number of big payoffs to hit trash for treasure but also just maybe randomly hit with coat. I think without brainstorm there's not a great way to set up top of deck really.
I'd rather watch this than Taylor Swift at the bowl any day
I forgot it was today... I've been brewing decks nonstop that I have no idea what's happening in the real world 😅
I only know because my dad and uncle MUST watch it. I don't really care about football much
With respect I'm not sure why you are fast forwarding through games so much more often now. These games look like they'd be really fun to watch and listen to, but now, over half of them are brief summaries...
I see Solitude and Leyline Binding and realize Modern is dead and never coming back
It felt like Cryptic Coat carried the deck, and the other "strong" cards were kinda meh, but maybe we just got lucky!
Lets be honest batterskull was pretty meh 2 years ago.
It was more of a nostalgia 1 of than anything else.
had to watch on mute, wtf
I hate The One Ring wins on either side. Such stupid card.
God modern is so fucking boring right now.
absolutely despise this type of durdle control with ring and 3feri and omnath, so toxic, love having stopped playing modern for legacy
Tbh, i couldn't watch past a minute. The way you're speaking seems like drunk slurred speech and like you're not being serious at all.
