Manhunt movies are always exciting to watch. The steps it takes to track down these serial killers is fascinating. Engrossing.

Yeah, quite faithful. But why is everybody so witty all the time

They just do that to make it more palatable and entertaining.
I'm sure they weren't that charismatic in reality.
Everyone's usually better looking than their real life counterparts too.
Richard Jordan was such a handsome man and a good actor, sadly died in his fifties from brain cancer. Good film. Thanks for uploading
Richard Jordan was an excellent enigmatic actor, I completely agree 👍, I ended up seeing the actor who portrayed Ramirez in this movie. I recognized him from an HBO film series before I knew he was in this one.
I met A.Martinez a few years ago. And we are friends...Life is so strange.
@Jazmin Prsicova No. Richard Jordan is the actor who played Frank
I agree. Love his Jeffrey Pelt's character in the Hunt for red October. Too bad he passed away so young! He was a very talented, handsome & underrated actor.
I remember seeing him years ago in a series called The Captain and the Kings. He was also good in Raise the Titanic.
Great movie that brought home the horror of Ramirez’ crimes. Thanks from the Uk 🇬🇧

Almost every film based on real events I’ve ever seen is a riveting watch, and this is no exception. Imagine having to work on the Hillside strangler case, then this one. Being a detective may involve a varied workload but it must be stressful as hell as well.

Will they do a remake? The real killer died in 2013. They know. I didn't know
The couple in the movie that were both shot with the baby in the house were friends of mine. More happened than what was shown here. The husband fought off even though seriously injured. It was so traumatic that they changed their name and moved away. That POS, Night Stalker!!
I was living in the SFV of Los Angeles and when Ramirez came there on his spree I was horrified. Hillside Stranglers, Night Stalker. It was crazy and frightening times.

I lived an hour away from LA where he was taken down by citizens who took their streets and neighborhoods back, so proud of them! I lived 20 minutes away from his last murder. I was only 11 years old, my parents decided that my sister (age 13) and I would sleep in the same room with them so we could be together and also take him down since there is strength in numbers! This was the first time I realized that there was evil in the world, my sister and I were terrified! My parents didn't leave us alone at night, and turned down any social obligations so we could hunker down for the night. We were so happy when he was finally captured, we breathed a collective sigh of relief! I am mad the killer got to die peacefully in a warm hospital bed on a morphine drip due to cancer, he didn't give his victims any mercy. He had a merciful death when he should've been executed! 😡
He would later say in prison “ I was done in by own people.”

Brilliant acting . What a fantastic movie .
The good ole old movies from back In the days were the best
Agreed and the actors weren't too good to accept TV roles. There were many good non fiction movies then, very well made. "Atlanta Child Murders", "Adam" about the Walsh murder among my favorites with Daniel J. Travanti ("Hill Street Blues") . I named my first born son Adam after him, it affected me so much. I bawled like a baby during the movie upon hearing his father calling out for him, knowing he was probably gone..... 🙏
If you like this movie, read The Night Stalker by Philip Carlo. It is a riveting account of his reign of terror. He is evil to the core.

So sad to think that they can't make movies today like the 70/80/90 and the actors and actresses don't live long as stars as we had great movies by actors that made movies for at least 40/45 years ,and still get to see there timeless movies in reruns keep these old movies coming please as totally enjoyed them
Shame he didn't get hold of you. Wouldn't ha e to listen to your whining.
He had an abusive family who left him with his uncle who showed him photos of women and men he'd raped killed and mutilated in Vietnam at a very young age he also had a brain injury. It's shows that a society that doesn't prioritise child safety has extremes in poor an rich and violence neglects children protection services is a great place for serial killers to grow.
Yes!! His Evil parents were NOT very good INFLUENCE. SAD to know in a such Outlandish upbringing, He was Kinda a victim 2, Because of his Awful parents. NO child "\ persons should have to go through it. The guy never had a Real chance in Life.

@@user-wi9rf1zx5b no it's called how to prevent young people turning into killers and stopping abuse and early intervention in obsessive thinking, addiction rapid thoughts by taking away stigma so they in puberty can get help I'm not saying it would work for most cause people choose and enjoy it but no harm in looking at causes and early prevention like nuro stem cell development to perhaps bring balance in mood and hormones and therapy s. Obviously someone enjoying inflicting pain on innocent beings isn't a normal human trait and we learn social norms and the majority have come from severe emotional sexual and physical prolonged abuse. Not all but evolution to violence trauma, genetics and upbringing all play a part but most studies have a personality disorder that hás adapted to some kind of prolonged stress abuse.
People should be locked up for life who kill like this but we still need early intervention and look into causes to lower the risk if possible.
The lady at 40:57 played her part very well. She really made me feel the horror she felt.
I have watched this film several times. There may well be other films on the same subject. But from what I have seen with this film its a very good interpretation of what really happened. I think the film is very good to watch and I would say to others, its well worth watching. PC. 26. 09. 2022. He eventually did die in prison.
and now he is rotting in hell. Ramirez never expressed any remorse for his crimes. He and his cousin, another serial-killer, were very evil.
This was a good movie. It had me anxious to see him get caught.
When I first saw this movie when I was a young girl I thought the same
I was shocked at the time of this horrible nightmare that so many people still left doors and or windows unlocked ! Guaranteed, I would be on lock down with a dog and a handgun at my side.
dont believe all these so called real life movies, hollywood are the best liars on the planet
Yes tha'ts right.
A difficult but fascinating case to solve by the Police. Interesting to see the work and the panic in everyone here in California.
I lived through that in SoCal, and it wasn't so much that it was a difficult case as it was the police couldn't find their own assholes with maps and diagrams, a compass and a doctor. Had the detectives gotten their way and not released his name and picture, then the citizens wouldn't have chased him down and done the police's job for them. The guy might be up to thousands of murders by now...
It was the same as The Yorkshire Ripper back in the Day ...women working a night ....scary i was teenager at the time crazy
I lived about 50 miles at best from where the murders happened you never knew if he decided to branch out
Well done good citizens, going for a bad guy themselves! Really impressive!
Yes! I love how the community helped to capture him. They were some brave citizens.
A coworker of mine said that his Aunt and cousin were part of the mob chasing after Ramirez. She was hitting him with a broom.

Scary 😨 movie...can't imagine what terror people went thru. Am glad he was arrested.
I LOVE THIS MOVIE SO MUCH!
And people leaving their doors unlocked? What in the world? Were we that ignorant or just simply too trusting of evil.
Still amazes me also.
A better question is "where do you live"?
Not only that I do not lock the front door, but I have no idea where the key to that door is. Likewise, I will have to work really hard to find one of my friends and acquaintances who locks the house!
Sometimes people forget, especially if there elderly as a lot of his victims were.
I live in Austria. Peaceful, countryside. No chance I would not lock my door.
Ignorance. These were “peaceful “ neighborhoods . No one thought this type of evil could arrive in their front lawn. Even when the Nightstalker was known though out the community, some people didn’t want to lock their doors because it was hot but also they never expected to be the next victim.
Good movie , thanks for upload.

@@stansmad good to hear (though I've no idea what Pluto TV is). good though that it's getting some circulation. one of the nice things about the film, is that it's a perfect rendering of the novel, which is itself, unique, being almost entirely dialogue-driven. which is exactly what makes it suitable for filmic interpretation I guess. incidentally, directed by an Englishman.

I would highly recommend To Catch a Killer (1992) starring Brian Dennehy, The Deliberate Stranger (1986) starring Mark Harmon and Deadly Intentions (1985) starring Michael Biehn. They're all made for TV movies that are about real dangerous people. Deadly Intentions was not* about a serieal killer but he seemed very sociopathic and terrorized his poor wife.

Good little film from an era when Hollywood knew how to make them.
How many movies are based on the NIGHTSTALKER? Never heard of this of movie before. But a great movie and true story.
His crimes was shocking and he showed no remorse or guilt for what he did. It wasn't even like he accidently killed them. He wanted to kill. Just evil.
The name of the officer who cuffed him was Officer Ramirez. The monster begged for help because he was beaten with lawn chairs and sticks. He ran across backyards and was chased by the people there. He was placed in a cell by himself and used to cower in the corner whenever the officers opened the door to feed the monster. He was terrified of what the other prisoners would do to him. He was a drug addict.
