The airport was abandoned right after the war. Now the runway and airfields are left unused. No other logistics facilities are also visible now. My Grand father told me , when British force left that place after war they abandoned lot's of stuff like vehicle , parts and ammunition's . Later this stuff was taken by people from Dhaka & Chittagong who well aware about value of this things. We also found many scrap of old things while we were digging for the basement of our new house. There are many place named after WW2 event . If you notice the name of place "Teknaf Jahaz pura " it named after a British Bomber plane crash landed there during war. My nearby village called "Jethi Rasta " because of British Army built a jethi nearby a canal of that village and build a road to transport logistic to their logbase.

One thing to add to this video, there was a Command Post of Allied Force in Comilla presently located in Comilla Cantonment, the Burma Campaign was directly commanded from that post by Field Marshal Slim.
Most of the Indians fighting in Burma and now Bangladesh Pakistan have more people who were with the army And at the same time the biggest battle was fought in Rangoon led by the soldiers of India and Bangladesh which may not be known by many.And the truth is this is because my father fought directly in Rangoon.Just before dropping out of Lucknow University, he was forced to become a blanket supplier to the Indian Army.In a word, the British Royal Army and at a later stage supplies in the Chittagong region and at the same time he enlisted in the war and trained as a soldier and then directly fought.My father late Azim Uddin was a student of Lucknow University in 1937 (village house Comilla Devidwar is an upazila right next to cantonment) and Comilla has the largest World War II cemetery.And while my father was stationed in the Agra cantonment of the Indian Army, there was a riot over partition of India, due to which he was forced to leave the army and go to Bangladesh. It should be noted here that my father witnessed the Second World War and the subsequent partition of India, then Pakistan, then Bangladesh.Moreover, it would be wrong to say that you saw World War I, but the aircraft moved from west to east. Imagine how terrible it was in World War II.Even my father used to say that the planes that went from west to east came back very rarely and when they went from east to west even less came back and sometimes he saw no return.If there is an opportunity, I will tell you that there are more opportunities to collect information.
