If I’m not mistaken, they don’t attack humans unless provoked, so in some similarities they lean towards friendly unless provoked
@@ChazWalser Only the great hammerhead might attack a human when provoked or even unprovoked. There's plenty of species within the Sp yrnidae family and the largest with the straightest 'hammer' is the most likely to pose a threat, although still minimal

I was knocked off a surfboard in the SW Gulf of Mexico surfing a rivermouth by a Great Hammehead my friend saw (he was paddling out and about 30 feet away and he said it was at least 18 feet long and big enough to eat me ! Absolutely massive ....All I saw was his fins swimming away hitting me from beneath and knocking me 3 feet out of the water. Missed my legs by like maybe 6 inches and destroyed my surfboard ! Most terrified and small I've ever felt ...and I was 5'9" and weighed 220 lbs at the time ! Swimming back to the beach afterwards across a deep channel was an experience I'll never forget ! If your wondering...I grabbed another board and went back out an hour later figuring if I didn't...I'd never surf again and the odds of getting hit twice are astronomically high ! Didn't get hit again but didn't catch many waves either because of being in shock !

Only 16 recorded bite incidents IIRC. None have been fatal. They're kinda shy for their size and have smaller mouths than usual. Still, it's best to keep your distance.

Only if they're super hungry with no food sources around, but even then, they can do without food for a long time, they have large stomachs that can contain lots of meat (and other stuff). But in general, no, they don't regard a human as an enemy or meal.
You should be safe. Chance of being attacked is very very very minimal.
Only the Great Hammerhead is (but rarely) dangerous.
