Having Mike talk about emotions was spot on...the time the plotting the strategies is where the most fun and the most frustrating elements of deer season. So you just keep going, Gotta remember, sitting in a tree is a true blessing, shooting a deer or your target buck is a bonus!! Going out after my target buck this week again here in winona county, a true giant. Merry Christmas guys keep the podcasts coming and good luck

Love all the content from you guys. I’m in my blind right now here in PA for rifle, and there’s a bruiser of an 8 pointer we’ve gotten on trail cam, so hopefully he shows up. I’d hunt the doe but I was too late and PA ran out of tags. Will be starting archery next year armed with black racks and an extinguisher. You guys have a good rest of the hunting season!

I'm starting to get discouraged. I'm muzzleloader hunting and I'm trying to stay positive. Central Wisconsin

Im canadian, rut timing has to do with when does are able to drop their fawns. In my area ive seen pregnant does in may who havent dropped their fawns yet. At a mid may fawning itd put peak breeding around the beginning of december here (6.5 month gestation).
Ive absolutely noticed that the peak rut in the upper midwest and north east US is earlier than ours is.
I even find a difference in rut timing throughout my own province (ontario). I have property in the south of the province near the NY border as well as further up north where i live and hunt alot of public. The south of the province tends to get snow later, have less of it, and have spring earlier and the rut down their tends to peak at least a couple weeks earlier that further north where i live (we're usually done with snow around the end of april to beginning of may)
Ive noticed that bucks up here exhibit heavy pre rut behaviour around mid way to the 2/3 mark in november with november 20th being the heaviest seeking and scraping time at place
