Psycho is one of those songs that you need to hear with headphones. There's so much going on in the back that external speakers don't show off to their fullest. The only way to describe it is that it's sonically lush.
This is the velvet side of them, which is where you get darker concepts and sounds. One of my favorites is their rendition of S.E.S's "Be Natural", which also happens to feature a 20 y/o pre-debut Taeyong of NCT. The real star of that mv though, is the choreo! Sexy, yet classy.
Agreed! Psycho is a song where if you don't automatically like it at first, you grow to love it. However, Red Velvet has always been that group where first listen you're not sure if you like the song at first or not. They certainly have their more generic songs, but once you listen to it more than once and pay attention to the layers, instrumentation, and sounds, you realize just how much their voices make the song. Although it may sound generic, Red Velvet somehow makes it slightly off-generic. This is certainly a song that needs to be listened to with either headphones or blasted in the car.
@@kmanmoney065 I feel that way about a lot of SM groups, particularly with my ults NCT. Sometimes takes my brain a couple listens before it can relax and just enjoy. 😊 Say what you will about the company, but SM is a master of making fresh and interesting music.

I recommend you guys wear headphones to hear the quality of their voices and music instruments or arrangements.

Wow I am quite surprised that this is the first time you guys are reacting to Red Velvet as they are one of the most famous girl groups in South Korea..It is quite sad that sometimes people from overseas only know few K-pop groups..As you guys get to know more about Red Velvet, I am sure you will be surprised and dive into them more.
Another great Red Velvet song. As you mentioned Mariah Carey and Mamamoo, Wheein is the one who can hit the Mariah Carey whistle note. It can be heard and seen in both Mamamoo's Woo Hoo music video and live stage performances.
