Just got our brand new Talbert Lowboy. Had to haul the new cat 535d Skidder and make a little video. It is 51 tons and has two down axles and one lift axle. Rolls down the road like a dream!!
In Australia ALL our heavy haulage trailers have ramps and can be loaded while attached to the truck, most large, oversize gear is moved on Drake trailers, hydraulic axle spreaders to 4.3m wide, airbag suspension & hydraulic gooseneck to control deck & neck height, 8 tyres to an axle with 5, 6, 7, 8+ axles. Some of those trailers can steer to dramatically improve the turning circle. American earthmoving is really laughably backward with ultra-restrictive road rules; you're not free.
Nice trailer. If you have to move you need something to do the job. Drop deck is the only way to go. Ran one years ago that hauled a D-8. Had a dragline that weighed 25 tons. Pulled it with a 4000 White, 250 straight Cummins, a Mack 5x4 and a 6:83 gear. It'd move anything but wasn't that fast out on the road but here you just need pull. Fast isn't here. Too many hills and curves. Had a Briggs engine to power the lift for the gooseneck. Interesting rig. HEAL Girlies and Blessings yall!
Hi John. I just ran across your channel this evening. Could you do sort of an intro video explaining what you produce? For example, is your focus on producing chips? What market do you sell the chips too? For the layperson like myself I'd appreciate learning what spec you manage to. In other words what does your customer look for in the chips you process? Do you process firewood as well? If so, is that a fallback when your chip customers have all the chips and they want? Is there a market for bark? If so, who buys it? I'm a computer guy who enjoys learning about how other folks earn a living. Thanks, Wolf from Connecticut
Don't scratch that paint. That's just too pretty! Ashamed to scuff it up loading stuff on it.Mighty thin on them runners there John. Might want to set up them outriggers. If our Ga. DOT caught you like that you would be paying a very substantial fine.
John we have that same trailer do you guys ever have a problem with the center pin not wanting to release or go down in the winter when detaching and hooking back up??
That's what I figured. We run Fontaine lowboys. We have 3 lowboys with hydraulic ramps off the rear. Easier to load wheeled equipment. They can still detach if needed.
Talbert was lowboy I was trained on loved it 53ft 3 axel. Take care of her and she will never let ya down beautiful trailer

Are those trailers magnetic?

+1bigsample I'll definitely look into making that video very soon!! Thanks so much for the comment.
With a Murray, you load right over the back !

Would be tempted to put a box around the adjustment levers the way they just stick out there. Seems like it would be easy to damage those
+animenut69 Very True. We will look into some options.
John we have that same trailer do you guys ever have a problem with the center pin not wanting to release or go down in the winter when detaching and hooking back up??
When you have that problem you probably got a little ice in the air line that releases the pin
Have you heard or used Brazo RGN?
Why wouldn't you use the outriggers and boards? Be a lot safer with the wheels on more surface area.
Where are the out riggers?
You have outriggers. Why not use them to get more tire contact on the trailer?
WTF the driver put the blade on the trailer without wooden bricks?
About how much does this lowboy cost?
do those black arms on the side of the trailer come out because on my it does
+zachary jolly Yes they do. We didn't have the boards for them yet when I made the video.
Thanks for Watching Man!!!
welcome
Who did you buy the Talbert from? You guys have bunch of new iron!!
Right over by you!! Freightliner of Grand Rapids

+mlangeler That's slick!!
Just found your channel. Where are you out of? I'm just north of GR.
+HerroRya Our shop is in Grandville, next to the GR Gravel cement plant.
why no boards and out riggers?
+yatb69 It has outriggers but no boards. The boards are ordered, just waiting for them to come in.
aluminium pull outs
Put a board under the blade.
It will be broke in no time
Wouldn't laugh with points on my cdl
