  • Vintage Motorcycle Rescue 750; Painting your motorcycle with Rustoleum spray paint. This is a comparison of using a very expensive automotive paint compared to using Rustoleum to paint your car/motorcycle.
If you look at these pictures very closely, you will see that using thick layers of Rustoleum clear can cause tremendous problems when exposed to the sun and environment. The paint that was applied thinly, didn't have so many problems.
I'm in my mid sixties and if I have averaged out all of the vehicles that I have painted in my lifetime it would come out to be about the same as my age, about one vehicle a year. I had some real good paint jobs and some real mess ups too. The biggest mess up that you can have in motorcycle painting is to forget the importance of preparing the surface that you are going to paint, that is where it all starts. When you build a strong foundation on a building, the building will be strong and straight. That's the same way with motorcycle painting, when you clean and prime the surface properly, then the rest of the motorcycles paint job will come out when you are finished.
Thank you for watching Vintage Motorcycle Rescue 750.
