Before this match I was sure Huge was gonna take it, it was wrecking absolute face throughout the competition. How wrong I was lol. I think Huge lost the left drive side around 0:21 and the right side at 0:44, they were pretty much static until the hook at 1:18 which somehow re-aligned that drive side so it started working again. Absolutely brilliant control of such a chaotic bot and very deserved win, Huge just didn't stand a chance at all.
I did some experimenting with fast electronic breaking to try and do the same thing in reverse and it blew up a set of batteries. It might work at the smaller weight classes.
@@LukeQuin Yeah. A shame Kurt didn’t try to make Axe Backwards have that similar effect. The season 3 design was the best one and then he made the bot weaker in season 4 and 5
i gotta admit, didn't think pepe's design would work. i thought huge will rip its legs off and smash it, but then again huge only got 1 good hit at start
We had to replace a few legs after this match. We got pretty lucky. It's a brand new version of 30lb Huge and like all new builds it looks to have a few bugs to workout.
What a unique and fun bot to watch, im really excited to how it evolves over time

That sucks. The chaotic flee jump was just so on brand for Pepe! These fights are awesome btw.

Pepe reminds me of Barberous from Robot Wars. It was such a destructive full body drum spinner back in the day.

How much power does that drum motor draw?
100 amps peak with 50 amps at cruising speed. Its pretty low. the drum does not spin that fast.
