- In this video I compare the Nikon 28mm 2.8 AIS and the 28mm 2.8 D.
I look at sharpness (in the center and corners) chromatic aberration, overall feel, and image quality, with photos taken on my Nikon D610

The 28mm 2.8 Ais was used in films in Hollywood, so it´s a good lens.
Afd is surprisingly not as bad as everyone makes it out to be.

he i got ai 28/2.8 best for outdoor street landmark shoot. but for indoor i prefer 50/1.4 for speed

Why not the 28mm f/1.8G for digital?
I don't know of an f/1.6 in particular, but I'm looking for something small/lightweight. You can get better image quality with a bigger setup, but I wanted something that works well for travel.

I find the 28mm AF D disappointing.

@@lonnieclemens8028 It just won't give me truly sharp images, no matter how I calibrate autofocus. I used to have a Series E 28mm that was WAY sharper. I miss that lens.
