Yes the ship was designed and named, and system for it were developed and built (such as the secondaries and AA guns on the midway class) but The project as a whole was cancelled in favor for more Iowa class battleships and more midway super carriers

I'll go with battleship Yamato.Because she has big guns and she can withstands Shimakaze's torpedos.The reason I like Yamato is:
1:Yamato has big guns(460mm caliber guns).
2:Yamato has a torpedo belt that gave her to sustain many hits of torpedos.
3:Yamato has good armor(from 32 to 57mm thick).
4:Yamato has armor on the main battery turrets(from 250 to 650mm thick).
5: Yamato has much better survivabillity(between Conqueror and Montana).
6: Yamato has excelent AA defense that could knock out an entire squadron.

Actually, yamato's AA is a lot weaker than the Montana, though it is powerful.
@@marinesubmarine8663 yami with this citadel is vulnerable to angles other bbs would not be. In fact the only thing that is left to be good is the guns. Anything else is crappy. The gk is tankier, the conqi will burn the shit out of you you. can't citadel the Monti and she blasts you with twelve guns and it is slow. Sniper ship at best anything else is just bad

Uhh talk that to 236 Aircraft that sunk Yamato.She barely destroyed enemy aircraft while her torp belt is hit by 6-10 torp until she sunk and ammo racked
The best AA in the world (plus having a light ship AA screen) is useless without air cover, but AA in the game is buffed more than in real life
That's compared to other ships which that's a fact, she had those. Other ships could withstand even less of that damage and would be sunk faster

That was after a 1942 or so refit. When she was launched in 1941 (December) she had 457mms. The 1943 (I think, not 1942) refit also took out much of Yamato's secondaries and basically painted on hundreds and hundreds of AA guns.

I love using yamato and i love the sound of ricochet and the sound of enemy warship destroyed
If I read correctly the Americans are sustaining the IOWA class battleship, and upgrading it with CWIS and some newer systems, modern radars, tomahawks etc. Personally I would love to see a battleship sail the seas again, and the funny thing is a modern Warship like a frigate, would shit herself if she saw her mighty 406mm guns pointing at her. Same goes for the Japanese Battleships although I don't know if they plan on recommisioning them.
Sadly one of her turrets blew up and she was grounded and yes, she was modernised and used for combat such as the Gulf War.
RIP H-class and Super Yamato since they were never built and RIP Tirpitz and Bismarck along with IJN Musashi and IJN Yamato.
The ijn battleship line from tier 4 to tier 8, isizuchi, kongo, fuso, nagato & amagi all look visually pleasing. They all have that sleek sexy lines for a battleship. I just love checking them out ^^

I can always get an IRL tour of the North Carolina Ship. I live about 30 miles away from it.
I always found it strange the Americans had better damage management than the Japanese. I would think the Japanese would put a lot more emphasis on survivability since they can't replace lost ships as easily as the Americans. The Japanese felt the loss of every ship while the American industry could easily just build new ships.

Americans put more emphases on survivability, this is why our aircraft had the heaviest armor. Other countries fought with the "Throw enough shit at the wall" montra, we would rather make it so our soldiers come back instead of pumping out as many vehicles as possible.

Exactly so it would make the most sense they would need to make the most out of what limited resources they did have.
Even if US had abundant resources the conservative way is still more practical. After all, abundant doesn’t mean infinite. So US made good quality ships that can endure better, and can be used again easily.
A good example here are the Fletcher class destroyers.

Well you failed to make montana because her speed is only 28 knots because if weight of the 4th 406mm guns and during planning there were other designs a lot because the bureau of ships importance was speed and armor

Yamato carries the biggest guns in naval history but that comes at a disadvantage. Her reload takes a long time compared with Montana. Montana has 3 more guns than her. Even though that all of them are 406 mm guns. They reload faster than Yamato. Plus, Montana has more maneuverability so she can dodge shots better than Yamato.
USS Montana and the super heavy mk8 AP shells are about as devestating as Yamato guns
