How To PINSTRIPE Your Car For $4

- I really wanted to add some accents to my car but did not feel like paying $10+ per precut pinstripe so I bought a roll of red pinstripe at autozone for $4. In this video I show you how to install it for yourself and save some money.
Tools Required:
-Rubbing Alcohol
-Microfiber Towel
-Razor Blade
-$4 Pinstripe from AutoZone
-Warm Day (50+ deg F)

Step 5: Go back and run a heat gun over it to seal it and remove small wrinkles. Vinyl loves heat, trust me.

Great vlog, thanks for posting and sharing with us. Just one comment. Do this on a fairly warm day. That allows the tape to stretch and flex better, especially when doing your turns.

I just did this on my wrx and it looks awesome! It took me a couple of tries but at 4 bucks for 40 feet that isn't too bad.
Lol yes for $4 you can mess up several times without worrying about it as there is plenty left over

Hi, i had it on for years and now have it on my new car as well, after this winter no peels and stays on well. Never had to redo it yet, and if i do gotta redo it i still have plenty of stripe left.
Great video and thanks for posting it. I had a straight tiny scratch of about an inch in length under the licence plate of my Mazda 3 probably done when the detailer preparing the car for delivery attached the licence plate frame. The area with the scratch is gloss black. I tried polish the scratch out with no luck but then I hit upon the idea of using black vinyl pinstripe tape which I cut to the width of the frame and then carefully lined it up and attached it. Looks great! Scratch concealed and it looks as if the tape is meant to be there from the factory. My question to you is how long does the vinyl pinstriping last on a car? Once again, thanks for your easy to follow video.
Hey happy to hear you solved a problem with a simple solution, i no longer have my blue wrx but the pinstripes were on there for more than 3 winters and multiple car washes and were still good so I’m assuming could easily go for 3+ years provided the surface was clean, if you’re doing a larger area might also want to clay as well.

Lol yeah I didn’t have a plate bracket and didn’t want to scratch the car with the plate edges
@@fixflickss might do the same since my plate is literally stuck with rusted screws and I want it a red plate holder
Is rubbing alcohol really safe to use on the car’s paint?
Yes it's safe as long as it's not 100% IPA, use 70% and never on fresh painted panels
I bought some of this, but it fainted after a while because of the sun.
I have not experienced/noticed this however on My new car i ordered a different roll of pinstripe on amazon.

You can pretty much find any color you want online as well might be more than $4
guess you can't go thru car washes any more. stuff drives me crazy. it'll come off easy here and there. but if you want it off it will leave impossible glue all over.
Not really, lasted the winter and dozens of washes already, then again of it comes off i got plenty leftover from the $4 roll
