- 🔥 YOU GUYS!!! We have been waiting over 2 years for this beast of a machine and let me tell you she did NOT disappoint! In this video we will be going over all the features of Weber's new rust resistant Slate griddle!
🫶🏻 Along with a tutorial on how to season, cook, and care for the machine! When I tell you this will become your FAVORITE machine to cook on - I MEAN IT!!! I'm already brainstorming over all the recipes we will be making on this beast!!
⚠️ Important- at 2:20 seconds of this video- I spoke on “seasoning” this griddle. I want to make it clear, that you don’t “NEED” to initially season this griddle, However, over time it will need to be “seasoned”. In reference to this video- I mentioned easier maintenance, based off our previous weber griddle, which needed the least amount of maintenance of any griddle that weve never owned. I’m excited to see how this griddle wears over time, and will keep you posted on our experience. Also, please read your owners manual for a more literal breakdown and more specific information regarding care of your griddle.
Hungarian Meatballs Recipe
We did this recipe on our griddle however you can make on your stovetop as well
MEATBALLS
🔸2 Pounds 80/20 Ground Beef
🔸1 Onion, Shredded
🔸6 Slices Plain white bread, shredded
🔸1/2 Cup Heavy Whipping Cream
🔸1 Egg
🔸1 TBSP. Dried parsley
🔸3 TBSP. Beef Bullion
MUSHROOM GRAVY
🔸2 Onions ,Diced
🔸32 Oz. White Button Mushrooms, Diced
🔸2 TBSP. Garlic, minced
🔸4 Cups Beef Stock
🔸1 Stick salted butter
🔸2 Tsp. Dried Dill
🔸1 Tsp. Dried Thyme
🔸 1 TBSP. Trader Joe’s umami seasoning
🔸 1 TBSP. Sweet paprika
🔸 1 TBSP. Lemon Juice
🔸1 TBSP. Soy Sauce
🔸Slurry- 2 TBSP. of flour mixed with 1/4 cup of water
🔸1.5 Cups Heavy Whipping cream
🔸1/3 Cup Room Temp Sour cream
SLURRY:
🔸1 ½ c of water
🔸2 tbsp of flour
Instructions:
1. In a large bowl combine plain white bread, heavy whipping cream, egg, parsley, and onions. Then add in beef bullion and ground beef.
2. Scoop a tbsp of meatball mix out into the palm of your hand, roll until a meatball has formed, then place on a lined baking sheet. Repeat until all mix has been used.
3. Turn the griddle on medium heat, add a tbsp of butter, once melted add onions and mushrooms. 4. Spread them flat so they cook evenly, turning them every so often so they don’t burn.
5. Place a pot on the opposite side of your griddle to medium-high heat. Add in the remaining stick of butter. Once melted and your onions are translucent, add mushrooms and onions to the pot.
6. Add seasonings, lemon juice, soy sauce, and garlic to the pot then mix. Add beef stock and mix.
7. Steam off any remnants of mushrooms and onions and add tbsp of oil. Place down meatballs on griddle, be sure to leave space between them. Once browned, flip the meatballs for an even cook.
8. Add slurry mix into the pot, this will help thicken it up, and mix let it simmer for a few minutes to burn off the flour taste. Then, add heavy whipping cream and stir.
9. Add meatballs into your gravy, sour cream, and stir.
10. You can add overtop off noodles or rice!
11. Serve and Enjoy!!!

Hands down the best griddle i have ever seen. You did a great job with the video!!!!
We are so excited about it! So glad you liked the video 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
This thing is so far behind Flatrock in grill zones, even heating, accessories, side tables, and burners. It isn't even close. This is a very expensive Blackstone
@@micahroberts3564 I can assure you this thing is nothing like a Blackstone!
😍 I didn’t know I needed a griddle until I found your video! But also those meatballs!!! 😍
Thank you love ❤❤❤❤❤
Great video! Have been waiting for the 36” (seems like forever ) to be available. Should have it within the next few days. Can’t wait to put it in service!
So excited for you ❤
Wow, what a fantastic new griddle I want one. Been looking at the Blackstone but didn't buy it yet. Glad I didn't. Cant wait to try the recipe too. Thank you for such a thorough video. Love receipes!
Awwww we loved making this video so much! Weber is our most favorite griddle on the market for sure ❤
Great video, thanks for posting. Trying to decide between the 30” & 36”. Love our 4 burner Weber Genesis, want to add a flat top as well. I think you just convinced me to go with the 36.
How many people do you normally cook for?
Great video! I just put mine together. Where did you get that storage bin? I got the caddy but haven’t seen that large bin.
Erica you KILLED it gurl!! 👊🏾 AWESOME review!! Gonna have to hit your subscribe button!! 💯
You have no idea how much I needed this comment today ❤ thank you! And welcome to the family
@@cookiterica Glad that I commented! Thanks for sharing your experience! 🙏🏾Looking forward to seeing more.
Great video. Now I'm hungry. Great review. Looking at this one myself. Any idea if it can be converted to Natural Gas?
Very well done review!
Omg thank you 🙏
Y’all are so cute !! The griddle is a beast
WE LOVE YOU!! ❤️
Just ordered this same griddle. Would you mind sharing where you purchased the black cabinet on wheels on your patio? It would be nice to have extra space with something like that. It compliments the Weber Slate so well.
What is the appliance you used to chop the onion
Amazing video
Thank you so much! I'm so glad you loved it!! ❤️
I can’t wait to see it
First!
We are so excited to share this with you ❤
YESSSSSSSSSSSSS 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I’m on the fence! Costco has the Blackstone 36 inch for $400. Do you think it’s a better buy to go with the Slate 30 inch or 36inch instead based on cost and longevity? This would be my first outdoor griddle. Great informative video also!
Amazing!!! I want one!!!
I think you would love it 😍
@@cookiterica Living on disability due to ILD.... I could never afford one!!! Still loving Grillo's.... made some like jalapeño poppers today!!!
Everyone who tried them loved them!!!
You did that!!!!!!!
YESSSSSSSSSSS ❤
I'm early... wanted to get a front row seat! 😏
THANK YOU FOR BEING HERE!! We love you!! ❤️
That’s a nice griddle. What kind of oil do you like to use to season it?
I use vegetable oil
Day one requesting a pickle flavored condiments video--especially the dill pickle mustard from Trader Joe's!!
Heard ❤
I can’t wait to see your smash burgers!!
YUM 😋
Do any of those accessories come with the grill?
They are sold separate on webers website ❤
Just got mine but didn’t clean it first . Going to clean now with a wipe down because I did season it
Let us know how it goes ❤
question - other than the surface area, what makes a stand alone griddle better to use than a griddle insert?
the standalones usually have a hole for the grease to go through. I'm not sure if inserts have this.
She’s a beauty!! So excited for griddle season and all of the content to come!! 🥰❤️🫶🏼 Also mad props to Weber for remembering that left handed ppl exist and trying to accommodate us as well!!
We were blown away by the thoughtfulness of this griddle! Any suggestions on what we should cook next?
@@cookiterica I think like a Japanese steakhouse type vibe would be AHHMAZING!!!
@@JenHarmanYUMMMMMMM
Nice griddle,
Thank you 🙏
thanks, i want that model but is not available in canada right now
I think it’s out in Canada 🇨🇦 ❤
Anyway, you can possibly write down the recipe on these comments please also, can you post a link to the griddle you used? Looks delicious. Thank you.
It’s written in the description of this video for you ❤
can you link that griddle??
If i purchased the propane version do you think I can convert it to natural gas?
We have had ours about 2 weeks. Our first cook was just ok because there was a “new oven” taste to the food. I cleaned it well just like Erica does here and then seasoned off with vegetable oil. Perfect!
What are the seasonings you used
The exact recipe is written for you in the description of this video ❤
So does all that stuff come with the griddle
Accessories are sold separate
Did they sponsor you
No! We are not sponsored. We wish we were…
my only concern is that the metal sounds so thin and "tinny" :( not the Webers of old. My old SS Performer, SS Genesis and SS Summit have thick 304 gauge SS. all about cost savings and bottom $ now
Gorgeous ❤❤❤❤
❤❤❤
Important message:
Contrary to popularish belief, you WILL NEED TO SEASON THIS GRIDDLE LONG TERM.
The Slate comes preseasoned, but like almost any piece of metal, it is susceptible to corrosion. It will need to be maintained. It will need to be seasoned from time to time.
The video made it seem like this steel surface will magically maintain itself, and never need seasoning, but that's NOT true.
You will be required to season and maintain this grill. You might not need to do so immediately after purchasing. (Though I absolutely will!). Like anything, own responsibly and take care of your belonging. Live long and prosperate!
Heard.
Im going to have to add a note in the description to be more specific.
What I was referring to in this video at 2:20 mins. Without blasting another brand directly- is that there was a specific brand of griddle that we had, that rusted every 3 months no matter how well we took care of it… it needed to be scraped, treated, pasted, scrubbed, and re- seasoned. Another brand that we had, we experienced the grill top coating literally peeling- and when we tried to re-season it, it was a mess, so much so, that the company offered to replace it. WE NEVER experienced anything like that with our Weber. I wasn’t as “literal” as I should have been… and I will most definitely be adding a note in my description of the video.
Thanks for your comment
@@cookiterica great, thanks for responding :)
@@kingtajthank you for your comment and for such a kind delivery
I was thinking similarly. Any rolled steel will be prone to rust. If I had one of these, I'd look into either a silicon mat or maybe some thick mil plastic that I could put down on the surface to minimize air contact. Or maybe a couple of jumbo ziplocs, something around 18"x22". Put some sand in each one. Lay them down on top of the griddle when it has cooled off. That would probably do a pretty good job of keeping rust away.
If only you could conver to ng I would have bought this
I hope they do that soon ❤
My brother has this and cant understand why it costs so much. The heat zones are the same as the blackstone pro at double the price. Its so bad compated to Traeger Flatrock
Perhaps it won't have the paint flake off and start rusting in a month. I like my Blackstone, but the build quality is trash. You get what you pay for.
Why season it if it’s preseason, rust and 7 griddles you are doing something wrong my RZR 37” has Nvr rust chipped just use it a lot for 2 years even take it to the sand dunes
FYI: If the "Pre-seasoned" griddle is made in China, the "Seasoning" is FDA approved Paint.
Whoever put that together needs more practice
What do you mean?
No wondering why she is soo ___!😬
