He actually managed to make me LOVE Bach about ten years ago, when I had only liked romanticism for forty years ! Still very sensitive to his feel and touch.
what could simpler : a melody that speaks words of sorrow and comfort, none but the simplest chords and a pizzicato walking bass to give it light and colour..Bach is there every time a true master channels his message to us.

I’ve heard of him. I started exploring his work a few years ago At some point, I learned and heard with my own ears Gould giving a televised speech or lecture saying “Mozart Was a Bad Composer.” The network received so many complaints, they never re-aired that program. They may have eventually destroyed it, I’m not sure. I prefer David Fray’s craft and eccentricities over Gould’s. Fray works well with people; Gould did not. Gould also famously hated practice. And at least Mozart WAS a composer, a phenomenal one. So, yes, I’ve heard of Glenn Gould.
