I'll forever be in love with Lalla Ward, and I live in hope that her Romana will return to Doctor Who. After all, Romana departed outside our universe, and could have survived the time war.
Depends on whether you consider Big Finish and Virgin Books New Adventures canon. At some point, she came back to N-space and was elected President of the High Council of Time Lords on Gallifrey, which continued for a long time...
It's my theory that the Time Lords sent out a special message: "Gallifrey Needs You!" Or something like that. All Time Lords everywhere responded to it except, initially, the Doctor.
@@KryojenixDoctor Who doesn't have a canon. Everything counts.
Lalla Waed is so lovely and still beautiful
I'm going to be 51 years old on the 13th of February this year and Lalla was my biggest British dream girl on the earth 40 years ago.
Beautiful Classy Lady. The last of her kind. Absolutely stunning, talented and reserved. The epidemy of sophistication and class. Amazing British woman. Iconic.
I'm sure you meant 'epitome'. What you wrote refers to infectious disease. I understand, it's been on everybody's mind for years, now! ;-]
Old Money, innit.
She is a national treasure. Love her!
La La - didn't she become one of the Telly Tubbies ?
So great meeting her in Chicago in November 1985 . She is still so beautiful even if this was uploaded a few years ago.
Better with age, like fine wine!
Lalla was awful to the costume lady I heard AND how dare Lalla bring down CREATURE FROM THE PIT, which was fun and funny and she was great in it.
"The worst episode of Doctor Who ever" The Creature from the Pit (4 parts): IMDB rating 7.0, 6.7, 6.8, 6.9. Under Chiball: Arachnids in the UK (4.9), The Tsuranga Conundrum (4.9), Orphan 55 (4.0), Praxeus (5.0), The Timeless Children (5.0), and many more. In fact there is only 1 episode ever from CC with a higher rating than that first "disastrous" Lalla Ward filming, Fugitive of the Judoon (7.3). It is hard to understand how the BBC cannot see the mess Doctor Who has been over the last 2 series.
The Creature from the Pit is one of my favourite Doctor Who stories.Wolf weeds, a quirky seer, an evil villainess a rag tag group of thieves and BDSM costumes. What's not to love? Even the 'monster' made from parachute material and gaffer tape is memorable. Certainly worth a rewatch, which is more than I can say of any of the Chibnall era stories.
3:33 Sacrilege!!! 3:43 Racism! 😭😂
I sorta enjoyed this interview except that Lalla took a very cheap shot at Tom Baker. Tom isn't perfect, but then again nobody is. We all have are rough patches but if you look at the behind the scenes footage during that period, rehearsal footage or listen to some of the commentaries on the DVD'S....Tom was still getting on well with most of his co-stars and some of the Directors and behind the scene guys. He has been more then apologetic about his behaviour at times but also his caring very deeply for the character and what it meant to his life. I think he also realized that even though they still had some good stories some of the scripts were not that good and fustration began to settle in for Tom. Lalla just comes across as bitter and not being grateful for getting a chance to even be in the show. Nobody I am wrong in assuming that though.
Wasn't really a cheap shot - Tom was notorious for being difficult to work with.
Linda Taylor She was very lucky that someone like Tom even loved her. With her track record with men maybe she will have a long hard look at herself before dissing Tom. I have never seen or heard her saying sorry which tells me that she is rather self centred privately
@@evonne_okafor This is a bit late but I read that recently Tom and Lalla have made amends so maybe both of them apologized to each other in private.
What does she say? My video kinda skips so i must be missing it. The only thing I heard was "I was the only one Tom Baker could stand"? But that can't be it, that's not even worth mentioning.
@Linda Taylor Yes, I didn't get that either. Never heard anyone say they didn't get along with him. Liz Sladen said she had a ball working with him, and Tom said he adored her and that she left Dr Who too soon.
Lalla is right. Creature from the Pit is awful!
I can see why Tom hated her. She’s a witch.
keep in mind this is from several years ago so maybe she and Tom are on better terms now.
Daft comment. Tom Ripley did the right thing to you.
No she isn't. They were married, after all. She's honest, is all.
@@neptune04 They are. They've returned to working together in Big Finish productions
@@jamesbevan9939 Together but seperately.
