We installed a Truma AquaGo a year ago and have been testing it out since. We absolutely love it, but were wondering what the yearly maintenance would look like. We made this video to show how we did it and how you can easily clean your own unit. It is very important to clean all water heaters, but its especially important in tankless units like this. Overall I am very impressed with how well thought out the truma system is and how easy this cleaning procedure was to do .

The young man does a fantastic job instructing on how to de-scale your water heater in your RV, particularly this trauma water heater. I have used his video quite a few times as a refresher to be sure I haven’t left out any parts. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

We’re decalcifying our Truma for the first time today and happy we found your video. The folks at Truma were great at providing us written instructions but there’s nothing better than video instruction. Perhaps they should send yours out! THANK YOU!

Perfect, no nonsense, instructional video, consuming minimal time and providing exactly what I need to know.
    Great job!

thank you for the video helped out tremendously very straightforward. I just did my tankless aqua go. It worked perfect first time I’ve ever done it. I’m new to the RV. We’ve had our coach brand new. We purchased a 2022 Newmar Baystar and we got it in December 2020 now we have been in living in the unit for about four months, and we have never had to do the maintenance on the tankless as of yet till today and your video. Thank you again awesome.

Great, direct and simple video. Not like those one when the person talks for 20 minutes when you need only 2 to 5 minutes.

We are new to raving and wearing your readers is very important. Why you ask? I turned the Truma water heater off and assumed that knob should go all the way to the right. Instead I turned it to ‘Clean’. Oops. No hot water. Light on the inside knob kept flashing. After watching this video, we stepped thru the decalcification by turning everything off and draining the tank. We did not have the tablets nor did it need it done as this is a new unit. It did reset itself and we now have hot water again!!! Thank you to the Morton’s!!!

Thank you. I just discovered that the Truma AquaGo operating instructions that came with my RV (in 2018) are missing some critical steps. This was very helpful. (I've also downloaded an updated version of the instructions from the Truma site.)

I’m here at Truma in Lakeland, Florida having my new tankless water heater installed, so excited. This great video is the perfect supplement to the verbal instructions they gave me during my visit…thank you, Tom!

This is such a good video. Thanks for making it straightforward clear and concise. We just purchased an RV with this system and so I’m bookmarking it to refer back to when we need to decalcify our heater in the future!

They thought through the process to mostly automate it. The video does a great job of walking through the steps.

  • @artisticengineering1619

Once again your videos have solve my problem.
    1. Went to camping world and they had never heard of Truma water heaters.
    2. Motorhome is a Dynamax at 200,000.00 plus. Camping world is a dealer and had never heard of Dynamax. Even though I live in Indiana and they are made 100 miles north of me.
    3. Finally got the tablets from Amazon.
    4. I could not get the LED to light on the panel.
    5. Thanks to you and your video I was able to determine that the phone cord from the water heater to the control knob was never hooked up by Dynamax.
Keep putting out these videos. I am now enjoying lots of hot water and will take back all the bad things I have said about Truma. By the way I even took it back to the Dynamax assembly plant and they could not fix it.

Thank you for your video, it was very helpful. After almost 2 years of full time use, our "Clean" light never came on, so we just decided to do this anyways based on the time.

    • @PhilBev222
      @PhilBev222 Před rokem

The older models do not have a “clean light.” The light on the control panel flashes off then on once every 7 seconds indicating it’s time to decalcify.

This is a DIY video after our own hearts.... clear verbal and visual instructions, easy to follow, and super informative. Thanks for taking the time to share with all of us considering going with Truma. It looks so interesting, and the more we know about it, the better we can understand everything that's involved in owning and operating one. One quick question... what's the difference between flipping the switch UP to power on and DOWN to power on? Our understanding is that the Truma unit only runs on propane, so wondering what that's for. Thanks!

@Mortonsonthemove, your video was very helpful, but I just want to make people aware of a different scenario that happened to us. Our water ran red first when draining after the decalcification cycle, then orange, then Blue! I had to turn off all the faucets at least three times to fill the tank back up, then let it drain again so that the cycle would clear. I am assuming the orange was iron, and the blue/green was copper, as the water had a metallic smell to it. It only cycled for about 90 minutes.

In my former life I used to get paid to talk into a microphone. I wonder if the mic used for your live shot would give you a brighter sound than the mic you used for the VO. I bet a mic that allows you to speak at normal volume, or with full breath, would help your VO to pop just like your live shot does. The video was excellent and I have enjoyed your content for a while. All the best! (I hesitated for a while... I don’t want to sound like I’m “shoulding” all over the place. Hate that).

Some how when I attempt to fill my fresh water tank, water comes out of the filter assembly and not filling the tank, and if I connect to the house inlet the same thing happens. Looking at the exploded view, I don’t see a cap at the end of the filter and I can’t see a valve or shut off in the diagram. This is new and has very little use. I plan on contacting the company as this January 1 2023.

Very descriptive on the process unless you have a Winnebago Ekko which doesn't share this particular control panel. Looked everywhere and can not find any information. Help.

Best to remove it, or if it has a valve shut it off. Dont wat to rinse into it.

Do I have to leave the gas (propane) turned on while doing the decalcifaction or can I leave it off and let the system just use cold water?
    Cheers.

  • @jonliebling

Thanks for the video - excellent! Except...I just went through the process but the light keeps flashing no matter how much water I run through the system (I've probably run at least 30 gallons through). I rebooted everything. Set the switch and the rotary dial to on to see if I could at least still have hot water while I troubleshoot the continual flashing, but now...no hot water. The unit cycles and hums like normal but I am not hearing the igniter switch do it's thing (that click, click - ignite - sound that I am so used to). Any thoughts? Calling Truma tomorrow but I'm dying because I hope I did not damage my unit. Thanks.
