  • I decided to redo my coming out story. I feel a lot more relaxed now then when I did the first coming out story. I hope you enjoy this version and can learn something from it:)

Probably the most common phrase from coming out stories (including mine, though my story hasn't been put together yet) is "I always knew I was different." Probably the first realization we all come to.

You hit the nail on the head. It takes a terrible psychological toll on you to stay in the closet, denying an essential part of who you are. I know because that was me up through most of college. ❤ how you said to come out sooner, great advice!

Thanks for sharing. I feel people should come out as soon as they know themselves and the younger the better.

It’s always sad to hear when family members don’t understand or even try. But I do believe that often in time, things can turn around. Once you’ve started a life with a partner and everyone sees how happy you are, they start to see you in a different light. Things begin to improve, especially after meeting your partner (when they’re ready for it). I’ve been where you are and now my now fiancé talks to my father more often than I do. We’re getting married but waiting for COVID to settle down more here in America. Vaccines are giving us hope fir a possible fall wedding. We do plan to have kids, that’s legal here, but rules in some states are better than others, and we are going the IVF route. I don’t know if that’s a possibility for you. You said you don’t want kids, but have you thought you might change your mind someday. Your parents will become grandparents. Today’s LGBTQ communities are getting better and better. Depending on what you think you can have in your future is the future you should aim to have. As always, happiness is the key. I feel pretty sure that you’ll find it, because you already sound like a mind in control. That’s a good start on your journey. Wishing you the best, always. And looking forward to watching your other videos. I hope you stay around uploading videos and connecting to a wider LGBTQ community.

Thanks for your kind words. Currently I'm on holiday (vacation) so I don't have access to a good internet connection. I'll respond more in detail when I get back home.

Hi Peter, I thoroughly enjoyed your open and honest expression of your coming out journey. I've said this before on other similar videos, but here goes ... I'm 77 now, and have a loving partner now for 27 years, which means I was single until I was 50 when I met my now Life-Partner. I grew up during a time when Gay people were bashed, arrested, jailed (gaoled), discriminated against, castigated for who they were and consequently so many of us, not all, stayed in the closet. I knew I was gay and tried desperately to 'go straight' during my 20's, even having several girlfriends, but I gave up the charade when I turned 30. From then on, I opened up to friends, workmates, my 2 siblings but not my parents because of their attitudes and beliefs. So, for the next 20 years I tried to find a partner which was difficult to say the least, since most gays at that time didn't want a relationship, they just wanted fun friends. However, the search and wait was worth it, and if you can find somebody you can share your intimacy and companionship with, I encourage you to persevere because you deserve it. Cheers from Australia and Best Wishes for your journey.

@@pet5467 Wow! I assumed you were still in Africa. My partner and I love visiting Sydney because of the Gay community there, but we live in Geelong, Victoria so Sydney is an occasional visit for us. Cheers and thanks for the reply.

Thanks for sharing. We can get married in certain countries, have kids, and a family life if you want it. There’s no limitations in what you can achieve.

Peace be upon you to our beloved brothers and dearest sisters, you kinda need to listen to me, I just want to say that:-
If you got anyone in your life that ever said to you likes ''how did it come to this?'' in the unkind ways, you know what I mean. This is what you tell them, you look at straight into their eyes and you saying:
    1. Religion is about Peace and Mercy of God.
    2. a) Do you believe in God? Yes. And if God didn’t want you this way, He wouldn’t have made you this way. Correct!
    2. b) God have made and want you this way, because He love you. So, you will get more closely and continuously approach to God. He want you to love Him more than everything else, and the love that's exclusive only for Him. Not so many people out there got that chance. That's why you have to learn and understand the hidden message of God.
    3. Whenever you come close yourself to God, He will never judge you based on your sexual orientation. He will judges and look at you, by what kind of a person you are.
    4. Humanity is about as long as we bring ourselves to loves someone else, no matter what color, no matter what race, no matter what culture, no matter what religion, and no matter what gender. Humanity just want us to be loved, and to be able to love somebody back.
    5. God loves us beyond any and everything else, and that’s who we should love first.
    6. And in God's eyes kindness and love are what it’s all about.

Good and cool to fixing things, comeing out. You look like someone famous, actor. I just can't think of who. I say same thing to straights. HOW YOU know your straight. How you know you don't like the same sex if you haven't tried it. I am dam sure a lot of straight men would think again to an aspect of themselves. They might end up fighting, denial with.

You can’t just say that it gets better all the time just some people who is gay and they get disowned by their families because they allow religion to get in the way of it and you didn’t even Acknowledge that because it does happen and yes it does get better over time for those who is excepted not for those was not excepted I don’t people to do I have a sweet gay and I Allison don’t care If it is not forced on me I will be fine by it but when it is being forced find me as I am not fine with it it works both ways
