I would love it if we eventually get either Badab 2.0, or just something for post Heresy, but not quite 40k yet. New Mk 7, mixed armor and bolter patterns, early Chaos corruption in Legion and Renegade forces, etc.

I've sometimes wondered how things were post Horus Hersey, say a few years after the dust a settled. The marines now have to adjust to the new style of organization and to recruit but there are still holdouts, so mop-up operations have to be carried out by composite chapters assembled from the various surviving members of the different legions that didn't see much or any combat in the very last days and moments of the Heresy. These units would be long forgotten by the time of 41st millennium or some of them had staying power and became full-fledged chapters. (This really just gives me an excuse to paint up various Heresy figures in different colors and icons!)
I am already doing that read my comments above/below??🤷🏼♂️ but yah I have some post HH MK6 CSM (Red Corsairs) A.K.A Astra Claws ....for my 40k army
In my opinion they can push easily some kind of "WH 35k" stuff later...as a bridge between HH and 40K.
I like that some lesser known chapters get their time in the sun in Badab, very happy to see the series is continuing!
Would love to see your take on the Novamarines or Howling Griffons. Quartered schemes always look really striking on the table 👍🏻

We have so much history to explore between M31-M41 too, this new kit will keep the remembrancers in the hobby going for AGES. Here's hoping GW bring out a MK7 at some point!

@@Abyss_Watcher Definitely, I'm just thinking about the timeline. Mk7 next probably because the siege of Terra is hot right now are my thoughts. Personally a Mk2 kit is right up there for me! But it seems like GW probably won't revisit those earlier eras. I wonder, when did the earlier armours officially become obsolete?
@@clinch4402 Technically most of the Mk 2 armor was converted to Mk 3. The main reason why older armor variants stopped being used widely is because of high production cost, or the loss of the knowledge to manufacture it. That said, all varieties of Astartes power armor are still floating around within various armies. For Traitor Legions it's the bulk of their armor, and for Loyalists it's mainly for veterans and officers. Viewed as relic armor.

The more I see of Raptors, the more Raptor Curious I get. I've been doing sons of medusa recently and I love them but those raptors are so lush. Lovely PJ as usual

That looks really great! That heavy weathering is nice and the silver works really well. Also I hear you on the MK VI kit. I grabbed ten of them off of eBay the other day and they're just gorgeous models. Also: consider this a vote for Exorcists next.

Great tutorial! I'm really enjoying turning the new Heresy plastics to use in my 40k Brazen Claws - as a fleet-based chapter who've been in the Eye of Terror for years, I always envisage them as mixing in lots of older patterns of armour and vehicles.
So much fun mixing and matching
Would love to see a Dark Angel captain or something fancy like that.
Plus always keen to see more dreadnaughts too as you can nail the damage and weathering so well.

Love this looks amazing. HAve you ever thought about doing a destroyer video. Meaning legion destroyers as they are realy fun as black armoured marines with massive amounts of battle damage and raidation damage from their own weapons.

Loved the colour variation you achieved with the red/browns, to me it gave the armour so much punch. I would love to see you tackle a Lamenter, especially considering, as much as I love them, I find their colours a little dull, and it would be awesome to see you bring a scheme to life for them, making them feel more like a Blood Angel. Plus I'm sure that chapter symbol will be a good challenge 😉

I would love to see the Tyrant's Legion, guardsmen and militia men. maybe a conversion video. it would be a great chance to go fully into weathering on something that's not a space marine

Have you looked at the Badab War mod for Kill Team by Ossified Mods? If you're a fan of the era it's a great way to dabble in all the different chapters involved in the conflict.
Would love to see either of the Imperial Fist successors that were involved in the conflict, either the Executioners or the Exorcists.

I agree. For the tins just search "metal mixing dish for paint" and you'll get a bunch of options. They aren't expensive.
Vallejo dark rust
I am also painting some Badab MK6 marines ...with a twist....painting my guys in the Red Corsairs colors for my 40k CSM army ...I also mixed up some Mk7 shoulder pads chainswords,different style bolters etc etc to make look like true "Raider of the Maelstrom"...but yes I was really "giddy" when I was building these HH marines...great video man 👍
Appreciate this is an old video, but I’ve got those new HH apothecaries and would love to add some white armour elements to this scheme. Would you shade the white with the brown oil wash or go with a grey/black panel line?
I reckon you could just use the brown, its a only a couple small areas, plus dirt wouldnt change colour.

How long is an oil wash supposed to take to dry? I recently started using them and it's taking ages. I'm wondering if I'm mixing it too thick
It’s going to heavily depend on 2 factors; the oil paint you’re using and the mineral spirits. When I use Abteilung and Sansodor I leave it overnight and it’s good to go. If I need something really quick then I’ll use Abteilung and normal white spirit, if I want something to stay wet for longer then I’d use Winsor & Newton artist oils and Sansodor.

@@cultofpaint I only brought it up because even though 40k is a sci-fi setting the miniature painting puts a lot of emphasis on realism and believability. I wonder if those who have done detailed LARPing would have insight about these things. Given modern computer modeling there are probably ways to figure out what would happen given the lore available for different armor and weapons. I saw a recent video where surgeon discusses whether the physical augmentations for Space Marines are possible yet and how that technology is currently used. And brain power in the 40k community someone is bound to be investigating those questions.

Hello, I have an issue with my CoP Infinity that I'm trying to solve. Well, two problems really but both I believe stem from the same issue.
1. When spraying paint my airbrush sporadically lets out lumps or non atomized portions of paint that hit the model and create egregious inconsistencies to my painting.
2. When spraying the airbrush will let out liquid/paint even when the lever isn't pulled back (when only air should be escaping). I believe this is due to the needle not fitting the nozzle correctly, and have tried multiple times to slot the needle back in properly (not too much but enough to be sure) and tightening the needle chuck. I have also checked the needle and nozzle for any defects under a magnifying lens, with no discernible issues.
Any help would be appreciated.
Hi Juble. Point 2 sounds like the nozzle may be flared a little. So no cracks to see, but a tiny gap would cause the seal between needle and nozzle to fail and release liquid without retracting the needle.
Point 1 is harder to guess. Do you use a needle guard? Is the paint collecting in it and occasionally coming off as you spray?
Hello, why gloss before plate lining?
Reduces surface tension and helps the wash run into recesses.
I can't get that pin-wash down, it leaves an appearance that looks like a wash that has dried wrong, kind of frosty and not a clean colour, like it hasn't settled right. Not sure if its to do with the varnish of a wrong mix with the oil
Could just be the dilution of the wash, sometimes I will reapply if its not strong enough first time.

This is how bad GW sets are know for options , he had to use a MK3 set power sword hand. Crazy prices and low on options. I’m enjoying bolt action options and SPQR !

An heretical thought occurred after watching this; especially with the creation of that green and then reading up on the chapter's history, what if the Raptors were actually a chimeric chapter? Ravens and say, loyalists of the XIVth?
I suffer every day: I like these models so much, but they are for Horse Heresy, not Warhammer 40,000.
If I buy any from Heresy, Games Workshop will kill 40k because it does not bring profit like Heresy.
If I buy 3D or recast pirate resin, GW will still kill 40k because it won’t bring profit for them.
