Okay so a 19-year-old Devin Haney beat the brakes off of 40 year old Floyd Mayweather. Floyd weighed 150 and Devin was around 135. Floyd had been out the ring and retired for over 2 years. Let me explain something. When a fighter is trying to get back in shape for a fight he is not trying to knock out his sparring partner. He is trying to build his stamina for a fight. Which means that he is trying to take punches from a fighter and still be able to keep his legs. Fighting six (6-8 minutes) rounds. I think Devin probably did work him. But I also don't think that Floyd was trying to touch him up either. The problem with sparring and you are the greatest is that everybody is looking for your greatest performance during sparring and that is not what sparring is about. It is about conditioning yourself to get in shape for a fight. It's about sharpening your reflexes

We seen Paul Spadafora touch Floyd up in sparring, but nobody believes he'd beat Floyd in a fight. Plus Floyd fights when he spars, and doesn't really box. So it's not out of the realm of possibility that Devin jabbed and out moved Floyd who probably was just in stalk mode. I doubt he was trying to really end Haney, as he was fond of him.
Bill is just doing what he should, which is hype his son. Nobody really cares about this other than THEM, because Haney isn't and will never be as good or on Floyd's level. He's special, but Floyd was a generational talent who set the bar these fighters aspire to.
