  • Sometimes plug-and-play is enough. But what if you think the table's perspective is off, or it lacks depth (or has too much)? What if you want a re-sized Dot Matrix Display, or a colorized one? On this video, I look at a popular SS table on my two-screen cab and show how anal retentive I really can be, in order to get the table to (subjectively) look JUST right.

    Looks amazing but I highly recommend installing a decal on the tv bezel to hide panasonic label. Post more info.

      Check out my other videos for more info, thanks. (And yeah, electrical tape might find its way to the Panasonic logo.)

    I appreciate the content, but please use a tripod or something, very hard to watch as you pan around while twisting the table.

    Lots of tweaking, lots of work, expensive parts... Of course! like any other hobby. I love it

    Very good video.
    Ive noticed that depending on the table the layback ranges from 40-70. I personally like the incline no more than 6 or 7. I just make sure that Y offset is always zero, so the table is perfectly centered.

      Thanks! Nowadays, I use an incline of 0 for most tables. What I like seems to change every year or so.

    you can change the dots in Freezy - scale the dot size (set to 0.8 for same size as pre-1.6.0)
    dotsize = 0.8

    Maybe one day someone would add a backglass cam adjusting to playfield perception angles on the fly.

    • @licoricewhip
      @licoricewhip  Před 3 lety

      That does exist, for Future Pinball (a different emulation than VPX). It uses a Kinect camera. Shaun Purslow's video shows it off. I thought about going that route but don't think it's worth it. I've read that it's more impressive watching a video of it (though a one-eyed camera) than actually watching it in person (with your two-eyed head).

    Can you adjust so high score can be saved and stored, even after table has been turned off.

    • @licoricewhip
      @licoricewhip  Před 3 lety

      Yes, most tables do that, just like their actual counterparts.

    My vpin came from China with 1080 preloaded tables, at the time I was not aware that the vpin community was apposed to commercial sales of these machine
    This company installed deep freeze so no changes can be made, unfortunately they designed it to only load high score to save and store only while machine is still on. When machine is turned off my high score is no longer there only the high scores the put in at the factory. I would really like to learn more about getting around this feature so my high score would not be removed. I live in Michigan I thought you might know of someone that could help with this problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance
    Rogerk

      Hi, RogerK. It's not what you want to hear, but no, I don't think there's anything you can do about it. I've never played on such a machine, but I think that those that sell preloaded machines always prevent them from being upgradeable and expandable, and not being able to write over the high scores file is likely part of it. (And yes, the community won't last for long if enough people from China or Australia try to make money off of it. It can stay a hobby, but if it becomes an industry, it's doomed.) Regardless, you can either live with what you've got, sell your current machine to someone else and start building your own from scratch, or salvage some of the hardware you've currently got and combine it with the new computer and table collection you're about to collect. At least that way, you can upgrade when you see fit, whether it be a better graphics card, better playfield monitor, addition of tables, PuP-packs, haptics, or whatever else strikes your fancy. You already know which tables you love, so if you decide to DIY, you won't waste as much time collecting tables! Sorry I can't help more, but good luck.

      Seen a program called anti deep freeze, videos on CZcams how to use, basically it lets you reset the password hopefully allowing you to unlock deep freeze. Not used myself but hope it does what you need

    Everyone has different preferences. For me one thing I hate more than most other things is seeing an eggy ball. Where the ball goes oval shaped as it reaches the top of the table. It's totally unrealistic which blows away any work messing about with settings beforehand.

    • @licoricewhip
      @licoricewhip  Před 3 lety

      Have you checked out the "Ball Aspect Ratio" section of the Video/Graphics Options? Maybe that will help. An "eggy" ball doesn't sound appealing!

    don't mess with Z-scale and layback..if you do..it might not be playable..so make a backup before you save it.

    • @licoricewhip
      @licoricewhip  Před rokem

      Never mess with the Z-scale, I agree. But I've changed the layback on nearly 1000 tables and it has never made a table unplayable.
