So this is the video I've been avoiding making. In fact I was clearly so deep in thought over this that I entirely forget to introduce myself 😂 LOL professional... only been doing this 2 years...
Anyway, here I tell you the 10 fragrances that I would take if I were going to a place where I cannot buy more perfume. I hope this doesn't happen, although my bank balance probably does wish that I would just go there and stay there.
So I want a fragrance for all occasions and this is my perfume capsule wardrobe in more of a feelings led video than one heavy on descriptions.
Also I was tagged by @HappinessSparkles !! a while back to do a tag called "keeping only ones I love" and I've not done it and yes, I feel guilty 🤦♀️ but I guess this is a version of that, just limited to only 10... I would of course keep many more than that... If you've not met Frances, please check out her channel, she talks about fragrance and skincare and does vlogs and is generally a lovely person to chat to.

Yes, everyone has their opinions, we all smell different things with fragrances, it's all ok. I'm hear to listen and learn from other people and that is what I love about perfume, it's all about how people perceive exactly the same thing and everyone's viewpoint is valid. 🥰

Yes I think sometimes something new can just make you feel a little better. Just because of the timing of when I bought that, I think I felt better from the first day I started wearing it. It's not really necessary how it smells but how it made me feel, it is very special to me. 🥰

There is a very nice, and extremely cheap, violet scent. It's by a Polish company JFenzi, it produces dupes, but they also have this 'single note' line. It costs 4 maybe 5 $.It keeps changing during the day, sometimes it gets masculin, and sometimes powdery and lipsticky. Oh, and it's called Violet.

Metal Wave is also my unexpected favourite that I bought during one of the lockdowns only because it was on a big discount. To me it is like vanilla powder and it also lasts very long.
Yes! It's a good one for a long day, I find it so relaxing and different to other things that I have. I also love flora Mortis, I am on the lookout for that one at a discount. I can't believe vanilla is not listed in the notes, it's the biggest thing about that fragrance! 🥰

I just want to say I really love listening to your descriptions. You link your perfume stories to your life experiences, and that makes it fascinating to watch. Perfume is so much bigger than just a scent or a brand or particular notes- it’s a link to our emotional states and life events, past and present. As a longtime lover of books, I am tempted to mention Proust and definitely Nabokov comes to mind, but poetry in general. As these are the writers that discuss what is difficult to explain or comprehend about the human psyche. Perfume does it as well. Sorry for such a long winded reply. In a nutshell, I love your channel!
Thank you! Yes for sure perfume can take you to certain events and people in your life. As I get older, I find fragrance now more linked with memories than ever. I do like it when others describe fragrance in the context of experience so I totally understand where you are coming from. It somehow makes it easier to imagine the fragrances and the feelings they evoke I think! 🥰

Cerruti 1881 along with Quelques Fleurs L'Original by Houbigant are fragrances which I relate to Princess, Cerruti 1881 and Quelques Fleurs are SO opulent and yet so graceful, automatically I imagine a wonderful Princess, love these fragrances VERY much. Scandal by Night is seductive🔥
Kenzo World is unique and beautiful, it's sweet and enchanting. My Move-on fragrance is Paloma Picasso EDP, it evokes the wild :
"I know what I want and I won't compromise with the enemy".

Yes! Totally! And I have Paloma Picasso EDP, that one is exactly that. My great uncle was gay in a time where he had to hide that, when he finally didn't have to any more, he wore Paloma Picasso EDP. I love that he wore that, and I sniff that fragrance and think of him.

Yes, that one, every time I wear it, I think oh this is so good! It's powdery and pretty but the leather really adds so much! And I think it has some memories attached for me too now, that makes fragrances extra special! ☺️

Yes! I still love Black Opium and that is feel unmentionabke sometimes on CZcams. Popular ones are popular for a reason. I have been wearing the Cerruti a lot this summer, especially on holiday. Oh I loved watching Kathleen Lights a few years ago with her fragrance collection, she is one of the rare non fragrance channels who I watch who seems genuinely interested in fragrance. I feel like she was behind all the Gucci II love! And now the interest in ELDO you or someone like you. 😊

I really felt what you said about Kenzo. I don't know why but it almost made me cry🧡🧡🙈🙈
It's really weird as almost everything in my life change but my perfumes (the OG ones) don't. I never even notice that.
Yes, there were a lot of things that all seemed to go wrong all at the same moment, but buying that fragrance seemed to indicate or perhaps just mark a turning point. Maybe it was just coincidence but I felt better very gradually from then on. And yep, I very nearly cry when I talk about Kenzo world because of that.
I guess that's why fragrance can be important because it's a constant and a comfort if you have a signature scent or a few long term loves. 🥰

Oh mimosa is so yellow and polleny in a way but also grassy and sunny, it's a lovely smell! And actually Cerruti 1881 is a big old mix of florals so it's in there but certainly not the only thing lurking... There's also a lot of chamomile, which compliments it beautifully ❤️ thanks for watching ❤️

Yes! LPRN black Perfecto would be a lovely fragrance to leave on someone or to have someone smell on a scarf or a coat.
And Kenzo world, is one that I bought in 2018, I don't think it's an amazing fragrance, it's just how it made me feel right at that moment. I do still love it because it's very different but it is very alien smelling. Not natural in any way and I'm not sure apart from that it's slightly aquatic, what the connection is with Kenzo world power! Thanks for watching ❤️

Your first impression may not be wrong with Kenzo World, certainly it is a controversial one, and ultimately I think my love for it is more what it means for me rather than the fragrance. It does remind me of bubble baths but it's not really soapy or bubbley, just clean and aquatic. Thanks for watching 😘

Miller Harris are lovely fragrances, I happened to find a shop with them all in on holiday and I tried all 😂 if you want to try found a dusk I can send you some, I also have violet ida, that is a powdery carrot seed makeuppy sweet vanillary fragrance, you are welcome to try that too if you want. I really want to get flora Mortis, I like that all Saints fragrance too, I keep waiting to find a deal! Hey Claire! I’ve been thinking of trying Nina Ricci Chant Extase and Glossier. They both sound really good. Scandal by Night is one of my favorite fragrances of all time
Oh scandal by night is a banger as many people have put it 😂 it's so rich and full! And yes, those other two are more easy going relaxed ones!
I smelled Glossier on someone when we were boarding the plane, and I just had to ask her what she was wearing because she smelled soooo good. I have yet to purchase it, but it is such a unique perfume!

I bought Kenzo World recently and love it. I’m going to wear mine today. I love how sweet it is. The thought of wearing it has lifted my mood.
If I’m honest I’m not sure I could commit to 10. I do know that I always buy Safari by Ralph Lauren. I haven’t got a bottle, but I will so I’m guessing it would be on that list.
Edited to add I really enjoy your vids. They are matter of fact with no distractions. Really love how it’s just you talking. I also find your voice really soothing. For some content providers I need to work up to it because there is a lot going on, but I can watch yours any time of day or night.

Yes, they are so so sweet. I don't like the original or so scandal or the other one, only scandal by night, but be warned it is still so so sweet. So much cherry though and that makes it worth it for me.
That La petite robe fragrance has a,ways peaked my curiosity. I tried it in st Maarten. It’s actually quite nice.
Yes it's a gentle one but just really quite lovely and interesting and for sure something that would make a fab signature fragrance! 🥰

So scandal by night is very rich and sticky, I did try scandal a Paris and I think that one from memory was fruity and didn't have the honey? So it was less thick. Scandal by night is very heavy, one or two sprays, you're good...

I need to perhaps refilm this at some point. I finished one of these and I would like to revisit the video and see if anything changed... Yeah I won't let Kenzo World darken your door. I know! But actually sometimes you can tolerate a little ambroxan, probably not this megadose though. It does remind me of baths though so you never know.

Yea ambroxan seems to be made with differing ingredients or levels I think. Some is OK, some is noticeable and sum burn my eyes into my brain
@@scentedsnowdrops Aj has clearly had to put up with a lot of different smells and I know cats are very sensitive. They like their own smells 😂
To me ambroxan has different textures 🤷♀️ maybe it's actually the combination with other notes though or as you say, different aromachemicals, I know there are a few related compounds. It does tend to make most stuff eternal too. Kenzo world is eternal... If you see it in House of Fraser or whatever (I think that's the last place i saw it) try it and tell me how much you dislike it 😂

I think your system of categorization would have helped make choosing your 10 fragrances easier. Good method! I am not sure I could choose 10 as I seem to rarely wear the same thing two days in a row. Long ago I would buy one bottle at a time and finish it, often getting tired of that fragrance by the end of the bottle and getting something new. Now that I am collecting fragrance, I do like doing seasonal rotation. I enjoyed your video! - Jenn
Yes! I don't do seasonal rotations officially 🤔 maybe I should??? But I do have my fragrances split into lighter and darker ones... I also used to have one bottle, use it, get a bit fed up sometimes! 😂 I don't know what happened... I think about 2017 I just started buying more!
I honestly don't think I could have chosen without the categories. I love too many... I also rarely wear the same one several days in a row, although when I am nearing the end, I tend to do that if I am over it 🤷♀️ thanks for watching as always! 💕

I am also shocked they've not come out with another fragrance, but I guess they had such a hit that they are scared to try another one. Kenzo World is probably more about emotional connections for me than the fragrance, I just associate it with starting to feel better, I guess it marked a turning point for me. Those are some beautiful choices from the ones that I've tried. I would love to try sunshine woman and I love si Fiori, that is such a versatile easy going one.
And yes, fragrance is one of those little joys that just make life a little bit better. Just like wearing a nice top, or eating a lovely lunch or watching your favourite TV programme. Little joys add up! 🥰

Some of my top 10 fragrances remain the same as they did over 2 years ago and I have some new ones that I discovered more recently. I would say that it’s both same and changing.

Well... I have several loves here, I already feel like 10 fragrances is brutal and cuts out so many loves! Gabi sent me a vial of Ange ou demon and that is beautiful 😍, roses vanille is definitely a friendly but imposing one and addict is so seductive. And yes, we have those fragrances that are connected to people and feelings in our lives and that is what makes them special! Thanks for letting me know your top 10, I find that so, so interesting ❤️

Totally! CZcams has completely changed my tastes 😂 I have tried so many things that I would normally never have tried! It's amazing! But also maybe I am getting older and that is changing what I like, when I was younger a lot of fragrances just felt too strong, not so many anymore though... ☺️

If you had to choose one perfume to be your signature for the next 10 years... what it would be?
Now that is hard! I actually think I'd go pretty neutral, I'd probably go with something like glossier you, because that suits my lifestyle, something more relaxed and cosy. I don't know though, I'm really not sure I could go back to signature scents now. I just want to try everything out there 😂 Pandora's box is well and truly open for me! What about you?
