It is so clear when you explain things . Even when English isn't your native language. Thnx
So nice of you. I try really hard to make it simple in both language and breakdown so your feedback is particularly prized. Thank you.
Come on Ray , you have to be nice with us. It s already a challenge to go straight forward in a proper form ,now you want us to in reverse.... Great wonderful video as usual.
Challenge?😅 Now you have me thinking about a bigger challenge 😅 That has made me smile. Have fun with it and wait on the next one.
Great video. Nice to have such clarity on knee and body position, and your points on the palm roll are fascinating.
Glad to see Billie keeping all the chickens out of shot. 😁👍
As ever David thank you for your feedback. It is most welcome and useful. Ray
Really clear video for such complex strokes. Thanks
Thank you Richard. Appreciated
Another belter. Nicely explained.
Glad you think so! Thank you.
I thought my head was mashed from trying to understand all the ways of going forward!!! Now you tell me canoes have a reverse gear, 🤔🤔 and I thaught my cycling proficiency test was hard 😂😂❤.
Chears Ray, you put out so much for no reward, loving all that you do.
Nige.
Ps will buy your books, but only sighed copies,, 📖📖😀.
Cheers on the books! Yep I will try and keep surprising some of you. 😆 Have fun
Finding your stroke tutorials clear and really easy to grasp, nice one Ray! atb
Thanks 👍 It is so based on how I work as a coach so really glad you find it so clear.
If I may add a suggestion? When doing a reverse J you can shuffle forward with my knees under and my thighs leaning on the carrying yolk, especially useful when ferry gliding backwards. Again another great vid Ray 😁🛶
Great tip! Worth folk bearing in mind. Thanks
@@RayGoodwinCanoe my pleasure 😁
Thanks Ray, that's great and definitely something to practise on the local canal. Really well explained .
Glad it was helpful! Video of Mike please.😄
Ray Goodwin 😀
Just completed my first overnight canoe camping trip with my son. Your videos provided many tips to help us complete our 20km journey.
That is awesome! I hope you had masses of fun and I am so glad the videos helped.
Gracias !!! Por compartir....👏. 🇺🇾
You are most welcome
Really helpful, can't wait to get out and give these strokes a try!
Have fun and I hope it goes well.
Hiya
Keep these up. I watch them, I learn something or more from all of them and they are also a “reference point” where people can watch, try and watch again based on some feel
In other words, these from a clear and well explained baseline skills for most paddlers
Thanks
Hopefully the learner will get a lot from the videos and the coach/experienced person will get tips. Thank you.
Ye... and a reminder that power is available in the core of the body.
Thank you Graham. Yep too true
Thanks for your good instructions.
The only thing I wonder is the reaction of the locals seeing you paddle backwards on a slow river, repeatedly, in a pink canoe behind a camera.
I'm planning to buy your book, I think I can say that much.
Not as big a reaction as to when I am using a pole and standing to travel upstream. Even the kayakers express bewilderment. I hope you enjoy the book. Many thanks Ray
Have found that tweaking the skulling draw at the stern of the canoe enables you to go backwards
Yep totally with you on that. 😀
Another well done we will be using these with American Canoe courses, or I will, cheers Mike Aronoff Chair ACA River Comm.
Thank you Mike. So glad they are of use. More to come in next weeks.
Thanks for all your videos, Ray! They are so helpful! Can you tell me the manufacturer of your paddle? I'm really not liking my square tip slalom paddles, but I need something that is tough for the rocky rivers that I paddle frequently. Thanks!
Freebird Paddles. Should be a link below most of the strokes videos
@@RayGoodwinCanoe Thank you! My curved blade square tip slalom paddles just don't seem to really cut it for me anymore.
Any insight on paddles - especially design and pros and cons for white water?
I'd love to see a video about that. Thanks!
@@serpensphile : it joins a long list of videos to do! I use the Freebird White Water Big Dipper and love it
