This is very good but I gotta be honest, I kinda miss the emotional sad sounding vibes of their old material. Nevertheless, I think it's more important to evolve and take steps to reinvent yourself.
Yeah but this is one song off an entire record. I'm sure there will still be the sad/emotional atmosphere vibe throughout the rest of the record.
Same same same, that rawness is what set them apart for me. I’ll deft keep my mind open for this albums release but I’m really crossing my fingers to see some of that depth they had in prev albums.....
This album has no heart, no creativity or ingenuity. It’s lifeless and a poor attempt at reaching any sort of mainstream success. Horrible

This blows. I'll gladly listen to their last 3 records but this is just horribly generic and uninspired electronic infused rock now. They've totally lost their emotion and edge now. Sad cuz they used to be one of the few post hardcore bands that genuinely made me feel something.
BEING AS A HORIZON...still great music. Bravo.

Yeah I feel you, their early catalog (first 2-3 albums) are great. I thought the last album was a snoozer, there were only like 4 songs that were stand-outs (too much electronic production and not enough instruments IMO). However this song was pretty interesting, kind of sounds like they are going for more mainstream appeal like Of Mice and Men, Parkway Drive, etc. did by softening up their sound a bit and adding more catchiness. I thought this song was pretty cool though, reminded me of I Prevail. Just my opinion

Being As An Ocean aren’t what they used to be, but that’s okay. I appreciate their talent and ability to change their sound however they want, while doing it in a way where they still stay true to their roots while also adding something different.
Personally, I’m not a fan of the new sound. I think it’s too BMTH sounding for me. But this band will always mean so much to me as their first 3 albums is still some of the best music I’ve ever listened to and helped me through some very rough times.
I’m so proud of you, BAAO. Keep going and don’t stop.

The sound has lost so much of what I enjoyed from the first 3 albums. I still enjoy the band a lot, but I can't see myself listening to the new stuff as intensely as I did the older albums
Their sound has changed but the lyrics and emotions behind it still as strong as their early music; when they release Waiting For Morning to Come Album at first I was scared they'd become a normal band but nowadays I need to hear at least 5 songs from that album as well as the first 3 albums! Btw; please don't compare them to BMTH they truly are a disgrace nowadays
Jonathan Rodriguez the lyrics and emotions are still there without a doubt. And yes, BMTH is quite pathetic nowadays. But the best way I can describe it is it’s becoming a little more Pop-y. And for a band that truly excels at writing lyrics and conveying such deep emotions, I feel that those talents are much more suited (and more appreciated) in a more hardcore genre.
Commenting mostly to just express an agreement. This song, and even the last album, are really good; but very different from what the band used to be. Its not bad, just different than what I expected. And I have to admit to having a hole where BAAO's old sound used to be.

I was one of the haters prior to the release of the album a few years ago. It didn't even make sense because I'd only *really* gotten into them with Waiting for Morning to Come. But somehow I found my expextations failed and got carried away by the harsh and unjust critique - I think it was in the comment section under a premiere of this song - and joined it. Since then I've even convinced long-term fans who didn't like this album at first to give it a try with a "new ear".
I came back here to say I'm sorrry! Being As An Ocean is not only one of the few bands in the Metalcore/Post-Hardcore Genre/Era I regularly come back to, both of their most recent works are among my favorite albums ever! I love when artists evolve, develope their sound and stay true to their being as an artist. I can't tell you how excited I am for any new work to come! Thank you, guys.
