  • Liverpool Is Getting Ready To Activate An £85 Million Release Clause For A Premier League Star.
Liverpool are reportedly interested in triggering an £85 million release clause for a Premier League talent. The Reds are preparing for the post-Jurgen Klopp era, as the German manager has announced he will leave the club at the end of the season. With uncertainty surrounding the futures of several first-team players, Liverpool is looking to sign a new forward and a centre-back.
Mohamed Kudus could join Liverpool this summer if the club decides to activate his release clause. Valued at £85 million by West Ham, the 23-year-old has scored seven goals and provided seven assists in the Premier League since his transfer from Ajax. Incoming Liverpool manager Arne Slot is reportedly a big fan of Kudus, having seen him play in the Netherlands.
Paris Saint-Germain is also monitoring Kudus as a potential replacement for the departing Kylian Mbappe. The former Ajax star signed a five-year contract with West Ham in August 2023, and the club is reportedly reluctant to let him leave. Kudus' significant impact on West Ham's performance in the latter half of the season, coupled with David Moyes' impending departure, could influence his future at the club.
"Mo has made an impressive start for us," the 61-year-old began when discussing Kudus' contribution. "He has made a significant impact with his goals and assists, and I believe his overall performance has been commendable. It is likely to improve as he becomes more accustomed to the Premier League and the level of competition. I have been greatly impressed by his performance.
He has probably started better than I expected. We gradually introduced him in the first few games, but since then, we have seen that he has been scoring goals or assisting us. Now he is starting matches and maintaining a similar level of performance, and we hope that it will continue."
