Right now they only have Juniper if you want a female voice not that I'm complaining. Juniper is sexy and awesome but I wish they had more female voices right now kind of feels like the program is a sausage party. I wasn't a fan of the sky voice but I really like Juniper I hope they don't get complaints about that one because I like her perky and middle-aged voice. Kind of makes me think of a bartender or waitress at a club. It would be really cool if they could get the actress that did counselor Troy on Star Trek/Demona from gargoyles I'm trying to remember her name she's got a gorgeous New Zealand accent and when you factor in some of the verbal colloquialisms that she uses when she talks that kind of voice would be super awesome. Would also love to see them get a British or Scottish female voice again I love those accents with the rolling letters.

What really upsets me about the whole Sky situation is that because a rich and powerful person complained about sky sounding like her voice, the truth is.... that she has now crushed the income and potential career of an up-and-coming young voice actress whose career would be off to an incredible launch with the opportunity now squashed by Scarlett Johansson. The rich and powerful crushing and annihilating the little guy is what really bothers me about this - we all loved the voice of Skye and I feel bad for the actress who could have benefited so positively from her voice being on the platform.
I've grown tired of waiting for OAI's vaporware to the point of giving up. We no longer have expectations for OAI. This is because all the key developers of OAI have moved to Anthropic, and we know that even Ilya is no longer with OAI. The public no longer expects anything from OAI. Thank you for playing the role of a pioneer so far. Now, you are the underdog.

@@i-wc9bp Meh... as frustrating as it is for us, I'm firmly of the opinion "delayed is better than broken". If they discovered efficiency, scalability, and/or safety issues after their initial announcements, it's better they delay to fix those than to rush out a product that's problematic.
Should they have caught the issues before announcement day? Yes. But mistakes happen, and I've personally been in situations where there's a last-minute discovery that we either have to grind to a halt to fix or risk releasing unreleasable code. So I get it. It's certainly not ideal for the devs, the company, *or* the users... but it's better than the alternative.
For the love of God, just release the new voice model!

To be honest I'm a bit disappointed about OpenAI. If you don't have this new assistant ready, why are you lying that it will be released in the "coming weeks", it's been over a month since the first announcement and it's not "coming weeks". If it's not ready, then say so, instead of messing with people's minds. I bought a subscription just for this mode, but now I have to cancel it.

I could not agree more. Her voice was 100% perfect.
It's a matter of opinion. Plenty of people thought that live state demo sounded very flirty. Others found it over the top generally. People don't generally talk like that.
Anyway it doesn't matter regardless because that expressiveness in the voice wasn't something specific to that voice. All of the voices will be able to sound like that or sound different.
