So true. I wonder if Alice have met Screaming lord sutch or even mention him as an influence. Alice took his make up from Arthur Brown, but he took everything else from Screaming Lord Sutch (voice, look, theatrical, mood, humour, etc...).
Yup ArthurBrown was v influential and he's still out there. Going to see him in 2 weeks at a prog festival . 80 y young and still the god of helllfire. God bless him
Old spinster me got off her chair and shook her bootie during this gig. Still young enough to shake it and not break it. Remember when this was out on the radio. Great seeing Alice Cooper fan-boying at Arthur's performance. Great upload.
When I first saw Arthur Brown's "Fire" TOTP performance on some retro music TV program over 20 years ago I immediately thought Alice Cooper must have been influenced from him and sure enough that was correct! And to see them performing together in this video is an absolute treat, Arthur in his 70s has still can hit those shrilling high notes which is amazing and this song sounds great with the Alice Cooper band rockin sound backing it! It looks like Alice let Arthur have the whole show for this performance as he stood in the background providing the backing vocals. Anyhow they should have teamed up way back in the 70s when Alice was starting out, make it both and Alice and Arthur show when they toured together, that would be a double treat for shock rock fans!
I remember seeing Arthur Brown in the early 70s live in Leicester......... Fire was much better then because of his dancing and his voice was perfect then. Did great in this concert though, given his age 👍. Sadly Arthur has never really had the recognition that he deserved
The Last time I saw Arther Brown Carl Palmer was his Drummer! So 68, I would have been 12 or 13 he did a poem before Reciting those Famous Worked " I am.... you know the Rest"
The King of Shock Rock meets The Father of Shock Rock plus Joe Perry! What more do you want maybe have the Godfather of Shock Rock - Screaming Jay Hawkins - join them.
Cooper really shouldn't have tried to sing along to much more than the chorus. Brown has this knack for falling in and out of time and altering his delivery cadence. Just let him go. Otherwise it feels like a vocal lag.
Perhaps!!!! But I guess we’ll never know what what discussed between the 2 of them prior to the performance. Maybe….just maybe…Artie B said to Alice that it would be an honor if you would sing along with me
According to an interview, his mother took him to see the evangelist Billy Graham as a child....Perhaps something has been remembered. The song reminds me of a Bible passage: 1 Corinthians 3:15 But if anyone's work is burned, he will suffer damage; but he himself will be saved, but through fire........
Joe Perry, friend. He's the lead guitarist of 'Aerosmith' who's singer is Steven Tyler. Joe Perry and Johnny Depp are also in the band 'Hollywood Vampires' with Alice Cooper.
Arthur was metal before metal was a thing.
Yep..no question. You can definitely see how he influenced the genre in so many ways.
Eyellgeteven Arthur is literally the reason Bruce Dickinson is a singer.
Hell yeah....
He did corpse paint in the 60s
Just because it’s a metal version doesn’t mean he was metal.
Love how Alice is just like "I'mma just gonna step back and let Arthur do his thing"
Oh yes he did
It's all you can do, Bruce Dickinson would probably do the same.
He should have went backstage and not sang along.
Thank you Alice Cooper for recognizing Arthur
Arthur the original king diamond
We need a king diamond version of this song
crazy, its 100 percent correct omg
This is nuts...the man is well into his 70's!! The voice is still there. Awesome. Alice pays tribute to the ORIGINAL shock rock.
I can imagine people's faces when they saw Arthur entering the stage
Look at the respect. Alice giving Arthur center stage. Yes it's his song. But he still stood back
We need a king diamond version of this song
Who would have thought it possible to upstage alice cooper! Arthur is brilliant and 76 years of age here!
The primordial of heavy metal
It's about time that people like Alice gave recognition to Arthur Brown, if not for him and screaming Jay there would be no disturbing shock rock
So true. I wonder if Alice have met Screaming lord sutch or even mention him as an influence. Alice took his make up from Arthur Brown, but he took everything else from Screaming Lord Sutch (voice, look, theatrical, mood, humour, etc...).
I thought it was my imagination that alice cooper and Arthur Brown and screaming Jay were associated.
@@nicktamer4969 really so these are the inspirations of my favorite man of all time Alice?? m gonna watch documentaries about them!! im so amazed!!
Yup ArthurBrown was v influential and he's still out there. Going to see him in 2 weeks at a prog festival . 80 y young and still the god of helllfire. God bless him
King diamond said the same thing
First saw Arthur Brown doing this in black and white on Top of the Pops in 1968 - An absolute legend! Love him to bits!!
Without Arthur Brown, there would be probably no Alice Cooper, no Kiss, no King Diamond, no Ghost.
AGREE!!!
Old spinster me got off her chair and shook her bootie during this gig. Still young enough to shake it and not break it. Remember when this was out on the radio. Great seeing Alice Cooper fan-boying at Arthur's performance. Great upload.
Damn its amazing Arthur Brown's still bringing it live, with a voice that remains impressive too. What a fucking chad.
He outshines Alice. He's the OG 🤘
This is great Alice and Arthur wow
Killer!!! Alice and The God Hell Fire!!!

A simple love song.
The King of Shock Rock meets The Father of Shock Rock plus Joe Perry! What more do you want maybe have the Godfather of Shock Rock - Screaming Jay Hawkins - join them.
Thank you Alice for doing that. That was one of the best playings/shows of FIRE ever.
Cooper really shouldn't have tried to sing along to much more than the chorus. Brown has this knack for falling in and out of time and altering his delivery cadence. Just let him go. Otherwise it feels like a vocal lag.
Noticed that.

Arthur brown belongs in the early stages of black metal
Vergonha é este show ter acontecido no palco secundário! Vendo este vídeo imagino que o show tenha sido muito bom.
Três lendas sendo que duas é do Shock Rock
El papá de todos.

Alice seems uncomfortable 😁
😂
Well, he's being upstaged to all hell! Literally.
it's a good thing heat rises.
Arthur was metal in the Bronze Age.
1:20 King Diamond
Is that Joe Perry on guitar?!
yes Noodle Boi, that's Joe Perry, I was looking to see if Johnny Depp was there too.
I saw him too! Love him to bits, I was pretty surprised to see him with Alice outside of a Hollywood Vampires concert.
Alice is hardly in the picture?
but Arthur is super cool indeed!
He's letting his teacher have his time.
Have seen him twice, one venue in Leeds had a low ceiling and I believe he is around 6ft 8 inches, the flames were not far from that ceiling, lol
Wow - Its ABAC
Damn, upstaging Cooper himself.
No egos in play there
I just noticed joe Perry lol
That's show business.
"FIRE" VERSION HEAVY METAL 😈😈
