- In the Capo San Marco Nature Reserve, the beach of Capo San Marco is the most beautiful sea area of Sciacca and one of the best in the sea of Sicily. Just 8 kilometers from Sciacca, the beach of San Marco, thanks to the fine golden sand and the dazzling blue sea, is an unmissable destination for sea lovers.
The reserve is of particular landscape and environmental importance. Among other things, it is a deposition site for turtles of the Caretta Caretta species and its marine biology is also particularly interesting.
It is easily reachable by car from Sciacca following the provincial road. The coast is largely free to access although there are also a couple of bathing establishments that offer the classic beach services.
It is an ideal destination for families with children because the coast slopes gently into the sea but the rocky seabed around the cape is also very popular with divers and snorkelers for the Posidonia forests and the fish fauna of the shallow waters.
And if the storm surges sometimes deposit posidonia leaves on the beach, don't pay attention to it. It is a natural phenomenon and indeed the presence of this aquatic plant confirms the excellent state of health of the sea.
