No the fight between Carly and Sam would have inevitably happened sooner or later. Fleck and Dave just brought it to the surface sooner. From how Carly and Sam talked, they obviously had some issues with each other that weren't being talked about.
Fleck and Dave should have had their parents called for causing Carly and Sam's near demise on the scaffolding and their parents forced them to cancel their show and one of them is sent by his angry father to military school and to never speak to fleck again and banned from his house while Fleck is told no more comedy EVER and he is grounded until his parents say so and they can't take his comedy anymore
