That is what Carrie known for. The way, she can go from a rocking out song to very gentle song and back to rocking out song. Make that transition with ease.
You guys can call it amazing all you want but the truth is a song about dealing with death has no place sandwiched in between two fast paced up beat break up songs.
Talent, looks and class! She's the total package! Also loved her duet with Steven Tyler when they did "Undo it" that led into "Walk this way"!

Funny part of this special was that normally another artist sings the honorees sings but nobody wanted to do that. The question was asked why not for Carrie. And answer was during red carpet arrivals, by the other honorees. Carrie was and still is that good, which is why Carrie did it herself. That is how much respect Carrie gotten in the industry. Country music brass still hate Carrie, but Carrie has gotten the respect of all veterans in the industry. As Vince Gill would say that is what artists want most, respected in the industry.
Critics said Carrie couldn't do that. Carrie showed yes I can. Reporters used to do that all the time, after Carrie won Idol and when she proved she could do it easily, they stop asking her.

This is from 2010. I knew it. She looks too young for it to be 2019. Plus I think this was just before being pregnant with her first kid.

All three of these songs were from "Play On" CD and all three were blockbuster hits and the reason, Carrie was selected to be on this show. Plus it showed how Carrie can go easily from rocking out song to a serious song and back to rocking out song quickly.
Watching her sing here, it is so evident how her mouth and lip area has changed since her accident. Here she looks like herself.
