The Latin Brothers - El Picotero (Full Album)

This 1974 debut album by heavy-duty trombone-centric Colombian salsa group The Latin Brothers remains a favorite the world over to this day.
Featuring the soaring vocals of Píper Pimienta and backing of Fruko with members of his band Los Tesos, The Latin Brothers would inspire future Colombian salsa orchestras like Grupo Niche as well as helping establish Medellín as a center of salsa almost as famous as Cali.
Filled with lesser-known dance floor classics, this remastered edition also contains the non-LP bonus track ‘Echa pa’ lante camará’.

Este al parecer es el álbum fundacional, el primero de esta orquesta. The Latin Brothers es la directa respuesta por parte de la disquera colombiana Fuentes ante el auge y éxito de los venezolanos con la Dimensión Latina, se percibe en los coros a un Joe Arroyo muy joven, ya que apenas un par de años antes entraba a la fila de artistas de esta emblemática casa disquera, a formar parte de Fruko y sus Tesos y otras agrupaciones. Excelente contar con este material completo dado que este LP es muy difícil de conseguir.
