    Very interesting video. Brought back fun memories...now I want mice...for pets...lol. In 8th grade our advanced Biology class had to do a Science project that literally should take the majority of the school year. I chose breeding a pair of white mice, and training the pair and babies in mazes with all kind interesting challenges for them. They proved to be so smart. The female was larger than the male but both were healthy chunks. After my adult pair bred with each other, the female killed the male. I don’t think it involved her being hungry as she didn’t eat him and she was truly a chunk. I thought it rude and ungrateful of her but the male’s death by his woman was just another fact in my report. Momma had 7 babies, all huge chunks of mice; I separated the 2 males from their mom and sisters as the breeding portion of the project was over but they were still included in the training portion of the project. I had the most fabulous year with my mice and got the highest score one could get which was great as this project was half of our grade. I still wonder why momma killed her man. Never got a good explanation.

      Rats that live in groups if they don't they'll be very stressed out and around the rat eyes is called por fin it's what the rat wakes up or if they're really stressed so if you ever think about getting a ride realize that they are very expensive especially because they get a very bad illness and their life at least once and they only live 2 to 3 years top so if you think about getting a right you need to have $100 aside for a couple rats and it's going to be very expensive in some veterinarians don't even take him rats you have to find a reliable veterinarian that can take while you're at and don't disturb breeding if you're not licensed breeder you can get a law if you ever said about breeding a rat potentially learn more about the wrap before you start say get a few and start waking your way up you need to know that rats are very very very intelligent and that they'll really need to be played with and have a lot of spare time this guy knows that he is not playing with them and he's just tossing them events12 spends our way way way too small they need to have more ventilation and they are very stressed out that's why they have poor thing around their eyes a nose ship ever consider getting a rat look up Shadow rat and she will tell you so much about rats and how to care for them they are very intelligent and I don't want you to start just saying oh I'm going to get a few and then just breathe because they need a diet enclosure because they have to be very attractive and they need a lot of exercise sorry about the weird words and weird spot like I was using the microphone

    You shouldn’t pick them up by their tails or use any type of wood or cedar shaving unless it’s been dust vacuumed their respiratory systems are very sensitive and you’ll end up feeding your snakes sick rats with respiratory infections (you can notice signs of this if a rat profusely sneezes or porphyrin aka red rat snot around their nose and eyes and haven’t cleaned it away) im a rat owner and lover I love all animals just a tip tho if you wanna give them just a little better quality of life as you probably know ammonia build up can be fatal to rats with how sensitive their respiratorys are

    • @dnaslitherscritters3244
      @dnaslitherscritters3244  Před 3 lety

      Telling the rats is a successful technique as long as it’s properly done there’s no damage ever done to my rodents and we do it by the thousands. Yes if I was to grab the very end that could be bad but that’s not the case. Not to mention if the animals were under stress people wouldnt say oh your animals so well behaved. We know all too well that the animals have sensitive respiratory that is why we have a lot of renovation throughout our building to prevent the buildup of ammonia but at the same time if you have 30,000 Road in Cinna facility I would love to see one that doesn’t smell to a degree of ammonia. It’s like walking into a pig confinement and it’s not smelling like Pig. We gave them weekly Bedding changes and monitored for health and if they get bad we pull those ones but it is rare that I see them with crustaceans around her eyes and nose

I clean the cage every 1-2 days so it's not the cage or food. when i switched to apsen they started to actually stay on the bottom most of the time now they seem happier as well. I understand some things my be cheaper, but for the safety of the rats, it is better to get cardboard ,paper bedding (dust free of course), or Aspen shaving. There's a couple different things. Holding a rat by its tail is not only painful but cruel. I don’t think you would like to be held by your sensitive bits. And ESPECIALLY holding a pregnant female like that is dangerous for her and the babies. Just because your mass producing rats doesn’t mean you have to treat them like that.
