EVA might be not have the prettiest cabins in the world , but their customer service and safety is simply second to none. When flying to Asia this is always my choice

I love EVA Air! Last Christmas my wife and I flew their nonstop service from Houston to Taipei. It was amazing in business class. The captain told us it was a 16 hrs and 48 minutes flight due to the strong headwinds coming out of the north during the winter months. Best 16hrs 48 minutes I ever spent.

Did this flight last December. Its a long flight but the service in business class is phenomenal. The pjs are great touch. EVA's business class is one of the best I've flown.
Junior Campbell Sure was a great flight! Yep those pajamas sure were comfy and the service was amazing!
As ground handler for this airline, I must say that their planes are well maintained and their service is great.
I enjoyed flying EVA Air on this same route (in economy class). I also enjoyed the food, service, and the boarding and landing music!
By the way: they have their own Philharmonic Orchestra!

I was on the same flight recently, agree great airline... Service, food, big comforter and pyjamas. The only thing is that 777 is really loud!
Very loud indeed. Being a light sleep, i could not sleep at all even though I was in business class with the flat bed.
EVA Air has been consistently ranked in the world's "Top 10 Best Airlines" according to hard-to-please Skytrax voters for several years running. Their service and food are strong reasons why they have developed a loyal frequent flyer audience. But in the last two years Taiwan's other airline, China Airlines, has grown to become a strong challenger to EVA. CAL has revamped their fleet and upgraded their service/cuisine to seriously challenge EVA. Having recently flown on CAL, they've got a great product on their hands. I gotta say China Airlines' business class is superior in design and comfort. The food also rivals EVA.

The first time when I watched Wreck it Ralph is also on an airplane,which is a Lufthansa A340-300 from Beijing to Munich，2013.So we have same experience bro!🎉I also wish nowadays airlines still offer this movie because that was a very memorable experience. I love both the movie and A340-300.

I've flown EVA many times as I spend all or most of the winter in S.E. Asia. I live on the west coast now,but did live in Burlington, Ont. I've done this flight. Super. I might shop around a little,but I always end up flying EVA. My son in law is a pilot with Air Canada, and I get a family discount. I stick with EVA. I know I'll get looked after if there's a screw up.

The service was incredible and the food was 5 Star! I don't blame you for sticking with EVA :) have a great rest of your day!

Very well done report. You covered all the bases. I wondered why you didn't use the lounge, but you explained that to another viewer; I had a similar experience on my last trip to Asia--was upgraded from Premium Economy to Business on Cathay Pacific. I was so happy I sure wasn't going to ask about the lounge. I've flown Eva in Premium Economy a few times--very good, but not like Business.

My flight was a few years ago, maybe 5, so I'm a little fuzzy on the details, and, more importantly, they've probably changed by now. My overall impression was that it was as good as Eva on your trip, but not necessarily any better. I'm a big guy, and, to be honest, I was so thrilled at having so much more room that I barely noticed the food or the IFE. I don't think the seat laid flat then and I don't think the amenities were as good--no pajamas certainly--but I'm sure things are different now. I'm flying Qatar Business Class PHL to BKK in November and I can hardly wait. That Cathay flight ruined me for flying Premium Economy--I've stayed home and saved my money until I can afford to pay for a Business ticket.
James Clendon Same thing happened to me after the business class upgrade it was really hard to fly economy and even premium economy again. That trip sounds awesome! would love to try flying business on qatar! i’m very jealous!
I just flew Cathay business ORD-HKG. It pales in comparison to EVA. Hard product was similar, but soft? No WiFi, mattress pad, PJs, few meal choices...
Cathay -- which we flew because our friends recommended it -- is very good, but EVA is hands down better.
James Clendon CX won’t give Lounge Access to upgraded guests, AC never gives lounge access to P.E; NH and SQ are far more generous at this point
I don't fly business class often but the best I've flown was AA Flagship First.

Which lounge does BR use? Have you tried AC Maple Leaf Lounge @ YYZ? BR is RELALY pricey, I highly agree, nearly same as SQ.
In Canada, ALL BR flights are Red-Eye flight, which made me struggle a lot since I wanna maximize the time for flight entertainment and onboard catering, any tips??

STAR ALLIANCE FLYER STAR ALLIANCE FLYER Thanks for your comment! BR has there own longe but that’s only in TPE airport and business class members can use it upon arrival and departure. I haven’t tried the maple leaf longe before but I’ve heard it’s pretty good. Yep all Canadian BR flights are red eye. I personally found the BR IFE not that great so what I would do is download your favourite content before the flight. But thats just my opinion might be different for you. I did find lots of time during the flight though even with sleeping to check out the IFE. Hope your flight is great !

STAR ALLIANCE FLYER probably Plaza premium at YYZ, BR has no arrival lounge at TPE
To get to the lounges, follow the signs! From the landing gates, after getting through security, go upstairs to the main terminal. Exit into the central terminal and head right. This will take you past a bunch of shops and you will enter a central area, with the incoming security to the left. You will come to an escalator that will take you up to the lounges as well as some fast food places. EVA actually has 4 lounges up there. At the top of the escalator, head right for the Premium Economy Lounge (but note that you can only get in if you have attained silver membership status). Head left, past a big map, to go to the other lounges. For business class with at least Silver status, you can go to the Garden or Infinity. I am unsure what the requirements are for the VIP lounge, but I will never have that many miles! The lounges are nice - nothing super really special, but sure beat a 3 or 4 hour layover down at the gate!
In Toronto, you can use the Plaza Premium which closes around 01:30 or the Maple Leaf lounge which closes around 22:30. The signature lounge is for paid fare Air Canada business travellers only.
Did this exact flight in April 2017 and while the late departure is hard, especially when it comes to eating dinner, It felt easier to adjust to jet lag than AC’s flight.
Overall BR has one of the best business class service and well worth it.
This is a great review Sam, especially from YYZ ( home hub ). EVA is an airline I do wish to try one day using my aeroplan points if traveling Asia direction. For 15 odd hours, I sure would want a top notch service, and looks the FA really make sure of that.
Couldn't you of used any of the lounges in T1 in Toronto?

So I finally flew business class in August from Toronto to Singapore and back. On board service was very good. Food likewise. And crew was very safety conscious. The cons would be: the washrooms were small. There were a couple so tiny that trying to change into my pj's was a challenge. Wasn't expecting that for biz class . The FA''s presumed I spoke Mandarin. Fortunately I did, although I was more comfortable and would have preferred speaking English. The IFE was quite pathetic. There was no mirror at the seat, or I couldn't find one. Overall, for the price I paid, $5,200, it was well worth it, compared to the say, Cathay, which at least $1,500 more. One final thing, on the return flight from Taipei to Toronto, we were late 1 hour taking off because the door would not close properly, and technical crew had to be brought in to fix it. I had visions, even after it was fixed, of the door opening mid air during the flight!
ed wang Yes the washrooms were pretty small. It’s even hard to get a good video of them as there’s no room to film. I really hope at some point EVA will get better content on there IFE. This would be a huge plus for the airline. There’s just not enough good content that you can watch for 15 hours. Thanks for your comment
I think the washroom all the way at the front, near the cockpit is a bit bigger. It was most occupied (or perhaps blocked for use by crew?) whenever I wanted to use it, though.
The doors are held closed in flight by the cabin pressurization. That’s why when you hear about someone losing it in flight and trying to open the doors, they can’t be opened. I understand the nervousness, though.
Very good review! I definitely subscribe to your statement "hoping for something else than omelet for breakfast". Why does everybody think everybody else likes to have this for breakfast every f**king time?
That's one of the reasons why I order special meals like SFML or HNML especially on morning flights.

hi liked your report but here are two comments meant to be constructive 1- when you showed the food and drinks menu you moved so fast I couldn't read it- 2- at same time you were leaning forward so half the menu was in shadow- besides that enjoyable report thanks

I would have done a slower shot of the menu but I wanted to save my memory card space for other shots. And I know what you mean about that shadow over the menu, In business class the light was beside me so every time I would move forward to look at the menu I would be blocking the light. sorry about that. Looks like it was a nice service. You must have been traveling with a companion to be stuck in the middle section 😕. Naturally “A” seats offer more privacy which I value 😉. Also like that they served my favorite brand of champagne ... Veuve Cliquot Grand Dame. 🥂. You wrote, at the end, “that this was hands down the best flight of my life”. Was this your first time in Business Class or do you have other business class experiences to compare with this one? Glad you enjoyed the experience

I am glad someone had a good experience with EVA. Although EVA has been consistent performing in top 10 according to skytrax, my experience has been bad. I had experience from rude ground staff, FA not answering service call, to FA ramming cart to my knee during flights. It happened so many times. All these incidents, EVA’s attitude has been “ooops, Sorry. What else do you want me to say?” Not once, do they ever want to create an incident report to their company so staff is not accountable. I fly 2-3 times a month. I will fly CAL and/or SG. Never will EVA earn my business again.

Ive flown on Air New Zealand many years ago and it was a fantastic flight! But I haven't flown on Turkish before, seen lots of reviews and pictures and it looks amazing! Also have never been on a Dreamliner before:( I do a far bit of traveling but I never seem to be able to get a flight on the Dreamliner :(

I only fly Eva air from Calgary to the Philippines.
My flight was on 5/31... I brought my ticket business class...
Lounge was a little better than last year.. Since I think they had an upgrade...
New shower room (only one) long wait for that~ but compare to other EVA lounges shower room..
Toronto's was kind of weak... Food in lounge is soso.... But I saw workers making some eggs for themselves..
I wanted some.. but... no go....
FOOD on red-eyes flight was just average....
But in flight snack was great.. I ordered EVA burger!!!

I have this flight in March 2019. I'm curious how you timed your sleep pattern, considering it's almost 16 hours? On paper, I have it in my head, go to bed 4-5 hours after take off, sleep for 6-8 hours, and wake up early enough, but not sure how my sleep pattern should be in the day or two leading up to this. Can't wait for this flight, I hear nothing but good things about Eva business.

I’ve flown to Asia and Europe a few times and what I always do is sleep as much as I can on the plane and then when you arrive try as hard as you can to stay up during the day. for me this works perfectly! I slept for about 6 hours on this flight and then when I arrived in taipei I stayed up until 10 at night and I was able to adjust to the time change pretty quickly. Hope this helps

Gaby Abed A shower would definitely help! I had a layover for 2 hours and then flew to singapore. More flying and keeping busy definitely helped with the time change
I 'm travelling EVA to Singapore in Aug, with a layover in Taipei. Did not look into their IFE until I watched your video. Good thing I did so......shocked that they have hardly any movies, shows or documentaries. Truly disappointed as I was looking forward to this trip and had heard how good EVA was. What they have was probably what Singapore Airlines's offered way back then in 1994 when it flew between Toronto and Singapore.

Sam Watt I'm sure it will be. I've read they have excellent inflight service, and that is most important to me. Will be my first time in business class, and I guess for the price I paid, it is probably going to be good value for the money, compared to Cathay, which is like $1,500 more! I see that EVA has now moved ahead of Cathay in the 2018 Skytrax rankings.

I would fly only two airlines to Asia Eva or Cathay Pacific. If neither is flying where I am going...I do not fly...PERIOD!
EVA Is not bad but the flight attendants not very well trained. Sometimes I would fly PE when SQ price are too expensive LAX to SIN. Everytime they would hand out socks so one particular time I was wearing sandals and during the flight I asked for socks. To my surprise the attendant said that they do not give out socks and suggested I used the blanket to wrap up my legs. So I ended up feeling very uncomfortable during the whole flight. SQ Attendants would never say no for an answer. Once I longed to munch an apple n when I asked the attendant told me that they do not serve apples but she immediately came back with one from business class. It's little things like that which make you want to fly with them again.
Zhi Bin Liu I know what you mean. Maybe some of the newer FAs weren’t as experienced?
I was told that SQ flight attendants are all very well-trained and always try their best to make sure that you enjoy your flight. I also remember many years ago also on EVA PE I was given a blanket which had chocolate on it and later on I realized that someone had used it before it was handed to me cos it was not wrapped. I ended with quite a messy stain on my denim skirt. When I told the attendant she wasn't apologetic or anything. I am not a difficult passenger but these are the things I remember. BUt I like EVA Chinese music during landing and I like Taoyuan airport cos I can eat beef noodle and enjoy free massage.
