@fugue137 that's the problem. These people don't want to "fix" the problem, they want others to turn into the problem. Why, no clue. It seems to me that the ones who put down our country are the ones who turn down the opportunity to see the other side of the fence. They're misinformation or not adequately informed. They hear one side cry, "WE'RE OPPRESSED" and they run with it. While I feel bad for people involved in that mess, I'm more worried about things here at home.

As an Iranian who lives in Europe for a few years, I have to say that I'm quite frustrated how Europeans don't like to discuss about these topics. Whenever I talk openly about these subjects, they accuse me that I'm radical, racist and Islamophobic. Dialog and reasoning has no place in conversations anymore. Not surprising when LGBT communities in free countries carry Palestine's flag shouting "Free Palestine"!!

People can be very convincing when calmly explaining things in a way that seems convincing, but you should do a little research into this chain of events either on Google or Wikipedia if you want a less biased understanding of the history of the Israel-Palestine conflict: WWI -> Covenant of the League of Nations (specifically Article 22) -> British Mandated Palestine -> Balfour Declaration - > Peel Commission -> 1936-1939 Arab revolt in Palestine -> Arab general strike and armed insurrection, April-October 1936 -> Jewish insurgency in Mandatory Palestine -> United Nations Partition Plan for Palestine -> 1948 Arab-Israeli War -> Nakba -> Israeli Declaration of Independence -> Existence of Modern Conflict. The parts he glossed over were extremely important to forming the context of why Hamas acts in the way it does today. Pretending that Jews have never done violence or stolen land is just a lie that any person who knows the history of the region wouldn't parrot around. 🙄

The numbers are as follows: Palestinian Fatalities/Injuries = 6407/152,560 | Israeli Fatalities/Injuries = 308/6307
If you truly want inhumane acts against civilians to stop, you should have a real issue with the IDF's actions as their civilian kill-count and injury-count far exceeds Hamas.

I grew up with Armenian friends which is mostly a Christian culture. A country surround by Islamic cultures. Some of their grand parents escaped the Armenian massacre. They described growing up fearing to leave their borders. The stories they told of their experiences! There is also the Palestinian uprising in Jordan in which they were expelled and Lebanon civil war.

1. What happened to the people who lived in Judea before Jews came to this land? Did they just vanish?
2. You mentioned Jewish population in Iraq or Morocco when talking bout ethnic cleansing. I have never heard of any ethnic cleansing of. Jews in Iraq and Morocco. However, I heard that Jews living there moved to Israel after the state of Israel was founded as they didn't feel welcomed in Arab states anymore due to the tension between Jews and Palestinians. No ethnic cleansing happened there.
I dont know about no.1 but about no.2 - yes , arabs rioted and murdered the jews living there thats why they all left. If you ask jewish grandparents they will say that they would have preferred to stay in their arab country but since jews started getting killed also by the rise of nazi movement they decided to flee. So, partly true, partly false.

I've been so confused on this topic because it seems that, as your average ignorant American, I've always been led to believe that the Jews have consistently been the victims in all this. He said something about there being no Palestinian people in the 1800s, ofc there wasn't it was called the Ottoman Empire. The thing is most people in Israel use the fact that there was no independent nation of people living in Palestine to justify kicking them out. Before that, ofc, the British planned to put Jews in places where there weren't Palestinians.
Despite this, after WW2, and the holocaust, they started to increase their support of the Jewish immigrants, to the point where they started taking the best lands and businesses from the local population with claims that, they couldn't pay the taxes or smth idk. After that, some of the immigrant Jews used the fact that there was no Palestinian country before, even if their ancestors lived here a thousand years ago, thus the Palestinians have no justification to stay on this land, in order to start and perpetuate the Nakba, which is what started the growing Arabic resentment against Jews.

Israel is fighting against Hamas and definitely has the right to defend itself. If you don't know who Hamas is, here's a quote from Wikipedia: "The group's attacks, including suicide bombings against civilian targets and rocket attacks, have led many academics and countries to designate Hamas as a terrorist organization."

Except that he asserted most things without evidencing them with further sourcing as well, not sure how this was the most intelligent breakdown. He also seemed to use "provide evidence I'm wrong" as a replacement for providing evidence he was right at every opportunity (otherwise known as not evidencing your arguments at all). It also was clearly biased towards pro-Israel narratives that have been floating around since this conflict started and before. The idea that Palestine has no historicity or no claim to nationhood has been a pro-Zionist mentality and strategy since pre-1940s UN Mandate.
I get that people can be very convincing when calmly explaining things in a way that seems convincing, but you should do a little research into this chain of events either on Google or Wikipedia if you want a less biased understanding of the history of the Israel-Palestine conflict: WWI -> Covenant of the League of Nations (specifically Article 22) -> British Mandated Palestine -> Balfour Declaration -> 1936-1939 Arab revolt in Palestine - > Peel Commission -> Arab general strike and armed insurrection, April-October 1936 -> Jewish insurgency in Mandatory Palestine -> UN Mandate for Palestine -> Arab-Israeli War -> Nakba -> Establishment of the State of Israel -> Existence of Modern Conflict. The parts he glossed over were extremely important to forming the context of why Hamas acts in the way it does today. Pretending that Jews have never done violence or stolen land is just a lie that any person who knows the history of the region wouldn't parrot around. 🙄
