    Had a nail on the rear tire last year and no mechanic. I looked at these types of videos as the shop was going to charge me a premium to remove it themselves so I did it myself. Definitely worth to save some cash and do it yourself. Thanks for the video!

    Very good points addressed such as, fresh tire scrub in, chain tension, pumping brakes back up. Good job.

    Free floating calipers (without guide bushings as shown here) need a bit more attention when re-fitting them.
    Also: If someone else did the fitting: check their work!! (had a bunch of too loose and even two completely untightened bolts the last time I didn't do it myself :X (and yes, this was done by a mechanic at an authorized dealer))

    Just removed wheels for myself the first time to bring some salt pilot road 3 that aged out, rather than miles out (busy life and ft work at home resulted in only 3,000 miles on them -crying). Can I clean the wheel at this time with something like degreaser? What about the oil seals over the bearings? They are caked up but still good.

    You should of used a breaker bar to loosen those axle nuts, most ppl would have a hard time cracking those open with a normal ratchet

  • @GutoFontana
    @GutoFontana Před 4 lety +1

    front axle is a little more complicated than just re istalll the wheel, you need to realign the forks in the axle….look for that.

      @@briarfox637Can you use a center stand to lift it from under the engine frame? Like a scissor style lift?

    • @briarfox637
      @briarfox637 Před 9 měsíci

      @@patrickmchugh8039 I have a center stand made for it that I use to lift the rear wheel for when I do maintenance. To get the front up I have an auto lift that I put a board on that spans the frame underneath towards the front away from the sump and it gets the front up about an inch. Then I take the center stand off when I'm done.

      $20/$25 if you purchased them from either CycleGear, J&P Cycles or RevZilla. Just another added bonus of shopping with either one of our companies and helping support these videos. If you have any other questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to our Gear Geeks at cs@revzilla.com or 877.792.9455. Ride safe, -Pat
