I believe that singers don't want to be too good on actual recordings because then when they do it live, it would be hard for them to keep hitting the notes and people wouldn't be surprised.
Its because the chorus that they get is usually a comped 'Super' take that is a combo of many different recordings put together. Sometimes its time that would stop them going through that process again. sometimes its that the artist wouldn't actually be able to replicate it again. Usually the final chorus etc would have adlibs etc that add variations
The it wouldn't be called variations would it? I think it's fun for them to play with the "original" track for live shows ....and make it interesting and surprise the audience uk
they can show off their voices more in performances like this and live, it’s more catchy when it’s not like that, and it makes it so everyone can sing along
Studio versions are supposed to be clean versions of the song so that there’s room for variations and cool riffs during live performances like this one
