  • Got lots of data? Machine learning can help! In this episode of Cloud AI Adventures, Yufeng Guo explains machine learning from the ground up, using concrete examples.
We see machine learning all around us in the products we use today, but it isn’t always apparent to us that machine learning is behind it all. While tagging objects and people in pictures is clearly machine learning, you may not realize that features like video recommendation systems are also often powered by machine learning.
So, what is machine learning exactly? Put simply, machine learning is using data to answer questions. "Using data" is what we refer to as training, and "answering questions" is what we refer to as making predictions or inferences. While it may seem like a complicated process, all you need to take advantage of machine learning is data, developers, and a willingness to take the plunge.
