Growing old is not an option, but my friend, growing up is completely optional! Have you moved a bit while listening this? No? soooo, you are not old! Stay strong!
In high school, CDs were just out and my friends would listen to Jarre and dream about going to these epic concerts. This was a time of multimedia projections, lasers, community art, breaking down barriers through tourism, and mega concerts that had the hope of changing the world through art, technology, and music. I'm not sure if such an awesome art spectacle is possible anymore with increase in security, but I'm glad that it happened even if I was too young to see it. I did see Jarre a couple of years ago, but it was confined to lasers on a stage. Still, it was awesome, and he pointed at me, this 50 year old kid moshing to Zoolookologie.
oh my god, i can't believe this. I was actually there, at this concert in Paris, when I was 20. We could only see the stage from a distance, but there were huge screens everywhere. we danced in the streets to this... too bad we had to walk home (my sister's flat) for 4 hours afterwards, because the metro didn't run until morning... it was a magnificent experience, and seeing this here again makes me savour it once more, thank you...
Totally amazing. That's the only way to describe it. I was there by pure accident on a holiday to Paris, when we were told there was a free concert on that night. We went along and couldn't believe how good it was, and on such a massive scale too. Had to pinch myself to prove it was real and not a dream. Because of this concert I love to play with lasers. Thanks JMJ for 3 of the best experiences of my life. :o)
Jarre live at his very best. Probably the most spectacular and joyous concert performance by any artist. The music style, the enthusiastic delivery of the track by all the musicians, the spectacle of the fireworks, projections and stage characters - just amazing concept and production. I would have so loved to be there. I went to Chronologie in Wembley, UK a couple of years later but, despte loving the music, the overall experience was nothing like this. An amazing live perfomance legacy.
I play this every now and again. Remember sitting on the living room floor and this was on tv late at night and I think this was the finale of the concert. Love it.
Probably the greatest moment in the history of the career of Jean Michel Jarre! you really feel is that there and he takes an enormous pleasure to play and share his music with the group and the 2 million people who are there, the title calypso and dynamic variations brings joy to live and embarks everyone in a particular joy, transcending his message of universal peace: love you! burst you, life is short, enjoy every moment together !

So its Feb 2020, sitting here at 23:50, realising that this particular concert was 3 years before i was born, i find myself with headphones in, music blasting through, completely unable to stop myself from head bobbing, toe tapping and generally loving this music!

When I listen this fantastic music by JMJ, all my problems, my bad mood and my stress are gone! To me, this music is like a hymn to joy and to life. Not only that but this music is so colorful, so vivid, so infectious, so powerful that I could kiss everyone around me for no reason and dancing around like a fool! Sounds stupid but It's like "flying in a bright sky above the clouds" and share my joy and my happiness to everyone all around the world! Thank you Mr.JMJ for this amazing music! :D
If you do manage to make a time machine and go back, make sure that you take a ghetto blaster with plenty of batteries and tune it into Europe 2. The sound system was lacking in most areas :)

If I had a time machine, this concert is one of the events I would go to see, along with anything the ancient world had to offer. This is on par with the best of the best in human history.
I was there. It was quite amazing, although the video doesn't really it justice. When you have laser-drawn cobras squirming on three skyscrapers... yes, it was a pretty good show.
@@stevejohnson1582 True, but as said, it doesn't do the concert justice. For one thing, it focuses way too much on the show inside the pyramid, which was largely invisible from where I sat. The absolutely fabulous light and fireworks show hardly gets any screen time. Second, it's heavily edited. The last two songs (encores) were from a tape, because they sounded exactly like on the album. Most of the rest was at least partly live. But when he played Rendez-Vous III (Laser Harp), the laser harp messed up. The triggering went haywire, and after a while, it was replaced by either a tape or a synth that sounded slightly different. Now some people claim that the laser harp is fake, and those people talk rubbish. It's real, because I played one at the Concert d'Images exposition at the Nouveau Forum des Halles in Paris in 1989. The one at La Défense went haywire, as mentioned, but you won't hear that on the video.
I was there too i was 15 at the time, i’m from Paris myself it was unbelievable, so many people, i think almost 1 million between La Défense and Concorde square
