This is a perfect way to celebrate Jane’s birthday! These character map videos are so much fun to watch! Persuasion is the most dramatic of her books because it really does seem as if Anne will never have her happy life!
It was a near miss! But I love how we see Anne's strength and how she finds meaning in her life even when her happy ending seems uncertain.
I love Jane Austen and Persuasion is my favorite!!!

I love these videos because reading is kind of difficult for me to do but I want read more. Hearing the plot beforehand always makes it easier for me to read the book. (Plus I don’t really mind the spoilers😉)
Spoiler gang, unite! 🙌😂 lol, I feel the same way - almost every time I have looked up spoilers, I have been thankful I did it rather than regretted it! It can help you figure out the best way to approach the book so that you appreciate it more.

I love these character maps. One small correction though. Fanny Harville died a little more than a year before the November visit from Capt. Wentworth, Anne and the Musgroves, only the summer before - June 1813. And Benwick didn't know about it until a year later - August 1814. "Your friend may yet be called a young mourner - only last summer, I understand." Anne has been pining for Capt. Wentworth for eight years ("loving longest, when existence or when hope is gone"), so Benwick's transition from heartbroken fiancé to his interest in Anne to his becoming engaged to Louisa in such a short time (August to November) seem to indicate that he is a bit shallower than first believed and his love not as deep as Anne and Capt. Wentworth's.
That is correct, I misspoke! I try to keep the character maps short and succinct, but I love that there are so many details like that in the books that give you subtle clues to get to know the characters better.
